Summer Spectacular on chopping block?

Today at the park I got a survey to fill out with questions about the Summer Spectacular. They included such things as:

"Did you know about the laser show before you came to the park?",

"How important was the laser show in your decision to come to CP?"

"How important was the laser show in your decision to stay late?"

Then it asks to rate the show overall and rate the various sections of the show and to rate it compared to last year.

Is CP thinking about killing Summer Spectacular? Or am i just reading to much into a simple survey?

I doubt they are thinking of killing it. Like you said, it's a simple survey. What they are trying to do is figure out how to market the show. Also, the million dollar question in that survey was "How important was the laser show in your decision to stay late?". The later you stay, the more you will spend : ) It's all just basic marketing procedure.

I remember last year when I took the survey.

1. If you were to pick the name of Cedar Point's next roller coaster what would you pick? Gale Force, Vektron, Ballistic Twister, Wicked Twister, The Fury.

2. Would you or your family be interested in seeing a life snoopy show?

3. Would your family be interested in seeing an ice skating show featuring the Snoopy characters?

I agree that likely it's just part of marketing the show, especially noting that the first question is did you even know it existed. They may be planning new commercials and deciding whether or not to include some highlights, or part of planning next season's brochures. Possibly they could be considering changing the time when the park is open later, or perhaps the company that produces the show is changing their rates and Cedar Point is trying to decide if it's worth the cost in terms of guest enjoyment.

For my money, it's the best laser show I've seen -- I love how they incorporate a lot of rides and other Cedar Point scenes. After all, that's why everyone's there, isn't it?

They frequently do surveys like this. Anyone fill out the one for Halloweekends last year the day Elvira was there?

"How important is Elvira to you?" (X) Not important at all. ;)

Seriously, I don't know why they brought her in. Maybe she's a big deal out at Knott's but generally speaking I don't think anyone here could care less about her. That and she couldn't even get the park name right.

I did a survey for MF back in 2000...I was waiting for my friend to get his picture, and this guy in a suit came up to me with a clip board. I thought it was pretty cool.

Jeff, I took that survey. She deffinitly should stay away from the point this year, maybe thats why the park wasn't crowded at Halloweekends last year.....

How old is Elvira now anyway? She wasn't young when she first hit the scene and that had to be 20 years ago!
Hey, Hey....stop picking on the old broads!

CP bound,

It's very possible that I was the "guy in a suit" who surveyed you back in Y2K as I was a Guest Services TL that season. Small world . .

Speaking of surveys, I got I questionare about the season pass program in the mail yesterday. It said it was sent to only a small, random sampling of season pass holders. I promply sat down and filled it out like a good little CP fan :)

I'm curious. What were some of the questions on that survey?

I remember taking a survey about Ticket to Ride back in 2000... let's just say it didn't get the best marks...

Most of the questions were about how I enjoed the different aspects of my pass, why I bought a pass, how my purchasing experiance was, if I would by getting another pass next year and why. There were also a few specific questions about JCC and the parking pass.
