Summer Spectacular 2003

What would you like to see added to this year's show? I would like to see the return of the sports segment and the should do something about OSU winning the national championship in football. Also they should do something to celebrate Ohio's bicentennial.

Also maybe they should add something to honor the space shuttle crew during the patriotic segment.

I agree with Ohio's BiCentennial...

MANTIS ROCKS 2002 & 2003

I liked the sports segment. I think it would be a great idea to put Ohio State's Championship there, along with the Bicentennial.

The Summer Spectacular is always a great end to a Cedar Point day.

I was a huge fan of the Summer Spectacular 2002, but I was a little upset that they replaced the coasters with the Peanuts characters. Why can't there be a combination of both?

I agree with brent02 I liked it back when they listed all the roller coasters and everyone screamed when there coaster was up on the screen. I liked it because I got to see what most poeple like around the park.

I thought last year's show was a step back. I have enjoyed the laser show each year, but I thought the 2002 version was not as entertaining as previous seasons.

I have to agree with Walt, the 2002 show was not as entertaining as past shows. To much Snoopy and not enough laser;) Im not saying that it wasnt good at all though, I did watch it at least 5 times. I always look forward to the show and hope that the 2003 edition is better then the one in 2002.

I wasn't too impressed with the 2002 show. My daughter and I caught it two times last summer. Something was missing.....no pizazz I guess. Being first time season passholders, I thought we'd catch the show several times. Instead, we took advantage of the shorter lines at some of the rides, or left and avoided the traffic jam. I'm not a fan of Snoopy, so that whole part turned me off. I thought it was silly.

I personally enjoyed when they did the laser show with the sports teams. You really got to see where many people were from by their reactions. It really shows how far away people come to visit CP and it's always a constant cheer, never just one or two people. Plus, I loved screaming for my Detroit teams anyways.

I really really disagree with the OSU comments (Go Blue!), but the Bicentenial, sure. They didn't do anything after 9/11 so I doubt they will do something for the space shuttle.

I dunno about the sports thing. I always felt like I was out on an island cheering when Penn State came up.

As to the 2002 show, I saw it right after the Red Garter Meet, so I really didn't see it (guess you had to be there).

Penn State? As the world's greatest university, you'd think it would be included in the laser show ... but I've never seen it.

DBCahill,

For what I understand, PETE is still lying on the Midway waiting for the Show to start!

As for the SS, the pov of the coasters was great and I hope to see it in the show again. Also, as corny as it sounds, I really like sitting on the Midway watching the show with my munchkins and hearing, Lee Greenwood, God Bless The USA...I love going to CP and "escaping" from the real world.

OTT

Who has to start recycling his empties NOW so he can afford to "pay up" at the Red Garter Meeting!

I disapprove of the sports segment, being a Hurricanes fan and all. :(

But the Bicentennial stuff would be cool.

Well, the "only" sports that exist are Detroit Red Wings hockey and Grand Valley Laker football...if we're all suggesting our favorite teams, I'm wondering why the Greatest are being left out!

What about the Lions? They're great! :P

I'm not exactly a fan of the laser show. I love electronics and all, but I guess I like riding the rides more than a laser show. At least it gets people out of the lines while it's going.

But if I were to change the show, I'd change the ending. It seems that they have the same ending every time... I do like the patriotism in the end, but maybe a different song would be nice. (Sorry, I don't have any suggestions.)

Like I said, though, if they keep it the same, or if those that do view the show prefer the ending they have now, then keep it the same.

17 straight years of real thrills and counting...

Go ahead, let them put the osu national championship up there, it will give me a chance to BOOOOOOO!!

GO BLUE!!!!!

The 2002 season at CP was my very first. Everyone talked the show up so much. When I actually took a night off to watch it, I was very dissapointed.

I think it would be better if there were more live entertainment people in the front. Maybe add a little crowd participation or something. I think I am going towards the idea of a party-like show to emphasize what a great day you just had at CP. It would really be a fun ending to an amazing day.

I for one think they should add the sports segment into the show. Although, in 2001 my mother and I were upset they did not feature the wonderful Brownies in the show.

2000 and 2001 were a lot better than 02. More coaster stuff, better music, and more lasers. Live entertainment is nice, but the screen is better in my opinion.
