just an idea that my BF came up with last night...
you know how there are so many stories of hauntings at CP?? well, how about if they did like a "ghost tour" of CP during Halloweekends??
basically, someone would walk a tour group around the park and tell the "ghost stories" in the exact spot that they occured. the fun part would be, though, that SOME of the stories would be totally made up and the group would have to guess which ones were real and which ones are not...
this would make Halloweekends even more fun, IMO...

Ooooh, I like that! That is a good idea, especially for Frontier Town/Trail. Guests that could guess which stories were true or not could win a Halloweekends tshirt or something like that. It would be fun, and could tie into the fact that CP is an Ohio historical landmark, so that could be worked in as the "history" of the park.

Sounds like a great idea, but what were the hauntings at Cedar Point? I've never really heard of any of them.

That would be a great idea, especially if they made it an extra fee tour that occurred after the closing of the park for the night. Maybe some special effects could even be rigged up to bring the stories to life. Maybe the tour could even include adventures that members could go on completely alone.

I think that they should turn the Summer Spectacular screen into a movie screen and show old black and white b rated horror movies.

Whats that big blue thing with the long line?
Dan, I was sort of thinking that might be what they are doing for the new attraction called Haunted Drive In.

This is a pretty cool idea. Halloweekends is my absolute favorite time to go to CP. Coasters and horror, my two biggest vices, can't beat it. Plus, it's nice and cool (no sweating in lines :)), the lines are generally shorter, and the haunted houses are decent. Not to mention Aaron Raditz, not the best magician, but his shows are always top notch. I've been to every Halloweekends so far, and I don't plan on missing out this year, or any other year for that matter.
Eric, the only haunting I know of, was on the carousel. Someone correct me if I'm wrong, but wasn't the carousel that was supposedly haunted moved to some museum? Well anyway, supposedly this girl went on the carousel, and was supposed to meet her boyfriend/fiance/etc. at the exit. It was the last day the park was open for the year, and the last ride of the night. The horse she was riding stopped right at the exit gate, but he wasn't there. She was so heartbroken, she went and killed herself. Anyways, the story goes if you wait at the exit for the carousel on the last ride of the last day the park is opened for the year, you can see her get off the horse, and walk to the gate, where she dissapears. I've never been to the park on the last day of the year, so I have no idea if that's true or not.
The only other park hauntings that I know of, are at PKI, and since this is a CP board, I won't get into those. If you want to here them, e-mail me at togack@hotmail.com I'd be happy to share!

Yeah, the old military horse is in the museum now. There are a bunch of employee "point legends" about the park, just to spook new recruits. :) Anyone wonder if the old Fascination building will be haunted now? At any rate, I like the idea of making it a tour after hours, because then you can turn the lights off and make it a lot spookier.

Yeah, I heard that when you order fries at Johnny Rockets at the stroke of midnight, a ghost version of Dan appears and chucks Fascination game balls at you. Spooky.

we're gonna need a bigger boat...
That'd be enough to scare me, that's for sure! ;)

Dan - about the old B&W horror movies - they used to show those at the Red Garter on Halloweekends. One of my favorite CP memories happened a couple years ago, when after a long Saturday of riding the wife and I grabbed a cold beer and headed up to the balcony at the Garter (surprised it was open, actually), where we watched a showing of the original (Lon Chaney) Phantom of the Opera. We were very disappointed to find last year that they were no longer doing that, and we stopped at guest services to "suggest" they return in the future.
