Strange Opening Weekend Request

So... I feel pretty stupid asking this, but I am going to anyway. I just found out tonight that my friend who was supposed to be going to the park with me this weekend more than likely will now not be able to go due to an injury. So... that leaves me with 3 days in the park (Sat-Mon), and 2 nights in Breakers by myself. The hotel situation is fine... but the idea of walking around the park for 3 days by myself seems somewhat lame. Now having some time to myself will be nice, especially to get some pictures and relax at my favorite Amusement Park, but if possible I would like to meet up with people at times to catch a few rides... Thats where you come in.

I will be coming to the afternoon get together on Saturday, but outside of that, would anyone be willing to let a fellow CP junkie hang out for a bit with their group and maybe catch some rides together? I know it sounds kind of weird, but I thought I might as well throw it out there. Im a normal guy, who worked at the park for 2 summers, and just happened to have a bad turn of luck. I don't normally wander the park by myself looking for fellow enthusiasts...

Now there is a chance my friend will be ok, and things will go on as planned, but I just didnt want Saturday to come and me end up being a loner for 3 days...

Seriously, just go ride alone. You'll run into people you know and chill for awhile, then go seperate ways and find more people more than likely. At least, that is what happens when I go alone.

You're more than welcome to hang out with me on Saturday. I'll be at the Magnum gate really early in case you want to join myself and a few friends there for a light breakfast (we don't care if Maverick isn't opening, its gonna be fun anyway). But yeah, PM me or get a hold of me on AIM and if you want to hang out, we can figure out a time to meet up and whatnot.

I plan to be there most of the day on Sunday. Not sure what time I'll make it there yet.

Like Ben said, going alone can be ok too. I usually end up running into someone interesting and having a fun day.

I'm sure there will be plenty more of us there on Sunday too. It looks to be a nice weekend, so I'm looking forward to a great day at CP!

I'm going to be there late on saturday probably around 4 pm. It's just me and the wife,her friend and the kiddies. I would love to go off for a while and hang out for a bit without the female presence. You aren't against beer drinking are you? I just couldn't put up with that though.

Josh, there's going to be an unofficial take over of a few coasters after the meeting so you can most definatly hang out for that. After that, it's up to you who you want to hang out with. You're more than welcome to hang out with my group as well.

JTaylor, thats fine... I am not opposed to Beer at all... There is a limit though...

I remember in 2000 for my first ride on MF, I was a single rider and the guy who sat next to me looked at me and said "Dude, I'm so wasted right now, and I feel sick"... Then at random times during the ride he would hunch over.... Luckily he didn't throw up while he was on the ride... he did so on the exit ramp...

I say all that to say, I enjoy myself a few drinks, as long as its not out of control :)

My brother and I will be at the Demon Drop picnic pavillion dropping off food from 8:30-8:45/50 if you (or anyone else) want to meet us there. I am bringing temporary Point Buzz stickers and we'll be wearing them then until we can meet up with Adam for the 2pm lunch fest to retrieve our buttons then. We're going to Rapturize first and then take on Millie during Joe Cool at 9-10.

Limit's are a good thing. a few beers are just fine. after closing thats a whole different thing. As long as I can drive back to the hotel without any issues we'll be ok. ( I won't drive drunk!)

Thats a good decision... Just to update you, I found out this morning that for sure I will be there by myself. Thanks for all your offers, I will do what I can to meet up with some of you. Adam, can you make me a button, since I will now definitely be at the shindig?

He had the buttons made at an outside source and I'm sure it's too late to get any more made.

I wasn't sure at the time if we were going so I didn't request one either. I figure after the meet people will recognize me and know what I'm wearing anyhow.

If I get Walt's permission to use the PB logo on my name tags anyone that wants one can have one.

I thought the buttons were premade and he made more than he needed, and then we were writing our User Names on them...

I'm sure he'll tell me either way. I'm not worried one way or the other. It's just for member to member recognition purposes anyway. Hey, I'm riding coasters, I'm good regardless.

I agree! I'm just ready to get on some coasters... When I start putting my hands up in my car when going over "road airtime hills"... I know the Off-Season has gotten to me...

Are you kidding me? I'm to the point I watch over my niece's shoulder at the house of the mouse of cheese when she 'rides' the animated CP coaster simulator.

I'm also going alone... I think it would be cool to make a group after the Picnic, if anyone is up for that, like a group of 6 or 8 maybe.

one year for my 20th bday i went with my parents and because they dont like roller coasters, I got to ride alone. Cool thing was, I got to be a single rider and skip ahead of some people...
