Strange Download Activity

I'm not sure what specific actions are causing it, but upon navigating to certain locations (including starting this thread), Chrome's download bar pops up, showing that I've downloaded "v1.download". And it's happened no fewer than 3 times this morning, as I'm now on "v1 (2).download".

What gives?

That's weird. Haven't seen it happen yet here. I'm also using Chrome.

It hasn't happened since I started this thread.
