Why not? StR replaced another water ride. And if they didn't feel the park needed a 3rd water ride, why would they have invested in StR in the first place?

CF built STR because their market research showed that people wanted a water ride. Since then CP has added Gatekeeper an Valravn and redone Mantis/Rougarou. Even if they decide not to add yet another coaster and put it in the STR location, their research will presumably show that people still want a water ride.

Prediction: sometime soon they add a water ride somewhere in the park.

Prediction II: It is not from Intamin

Cedars isn't any more precious than Gold was. Just don't get excited about its demise until they break ground on new dorms on the mainland.

True ... But it was 4 plus years after, AND in an entirely different location.

I agree with your premise, though ... Because on the other side of the coin, I seriously doubt anyone is in the frame of mind that CP wouldn't replace a 'coaster' with another 'coaster' ... Especially seeing as how they've already done it - immediately and on the same footprint in one case with GateKeeper/Disaster Transport; and in a separate scenario: 5 years later and a stone's throw away with Valravn/Wildcat, respectively.

I would love for a ride like "Tom & Huck's River Blast" or "River Battle" in the place of Shoot the Rapids. This type of water ride fills the gap of water ride, low height requirement, low thrill, while at the same time family-friendly and interactive. To me its an obvious choice. The problem with Shoot the Rapids is that it really was no different than Snake River Falls.

Really? Have they started doing that yet?

From the webcam it actually still looks like the cement is in place. Could be different in person though.

From riding MF several times this morning, I can confirm the only elements removed from STR are the two lift hills.

I'm pretty sure the concrete is dyed to look like a natural sandstone color. Which is why from the webcam it looks like bulldozed dirt/sand. But the concrete is still in place.

Maybe they'll expand Dinosaur Alive with the STR land or move the dinosaurs to that location.

A higher-capacity version of something like this would be a great family ride to go with Dinosaurs Alive.

It's also pretty plausible since the gift shop and some of the surroundings remain.

Reminds me of Jurassic World.

Well, it should, as it's part of the Jurassic Park area at Universal Islands of Adventure.

Oh god, do i hope it won't be dinosaurs alive addition.

I'd be happy if a meteorite hit that section of the park and took out all the dinosaurs.
