Storm Surge always down?

Any clue what's up with Storm Surge at CP Shores? It seems to be down every time we have been to the waterpark. We were there Tues and it closed down.. got in line right as it opened back up and after 5 min broke down again (no floats going to the top). After waiting 40 min at the top we did the walk of shame down and just frustrated we spent all that time waiting. Tried convincing others in my party to give up sooner but they really wanted to go on it. Sad because it's one of my favorite rides there.

It's not the walk of shame if the ride breaks down. Now if you didn't fit on the 5 person raft, then yes that would be the walk of shame.

The old Zoom Flume... It has conveyor problems, always has. Most likely this was the issue unless it was a windy day. It doesn't take much wind to close that ride down.

I was there 2 weekends ago when it broke down, I saw the maintenance guy show up, take one look up and mouth some choice words about the conveyor. Seems to be quite problematic.

Imagine what they say when there is a problem with Dragster.

I'm sure it's something about how engineers that designed it never have to do maintenance on it... with a bit more flavor.

Last year I rode this thing every time with no problem...never even thought once about it shutting down. This year, It has been down at least 15 visits (probably more to be honest.) They always seem to get it back up and running at some point. But I'm not sure what is going on this year.

The biggest problem I have is when it is down...The lifeguards never seem to get the "closed" sign up over the entrance even though they are 5 ft away. So (those not knowing to look at the belt not moving) you go all the way up only to find out it's closed and then you have to come all the way back down. I learned once...but I see MANY people doing that lately...eventually someone hangs up the sign.

Last week we went up (rafts were on their way up). We got up there and then the raft never made it up. We went down the steps...Rafts started back up, we went up (1st ones of the day.) We went down the ride. And it was shut down again...everyone who followed us, had to walk back down. I didn't see it running the rest of the day.

This past Wednesday that thing was up and down all day we noticed when at the park. We tried twice with no prevail to ride it.

I wonder if the problems with the lift are why LG at the bottom never seems to get the rafts n the belt quickly and they LG at the top is constantly waiting on a raft to load? Maybe it can't handle the strain.

The lifeguard at the bottom (Im assuming you mean the one in the water) can't leave the water for any reason as long as a guest can access the water. Now another lifeguard could come over and put the chain up but the problem typically comes from when guests at the top come down and don't put the chain back up after they undo it to walk through.
