Steps from ride to ride...

I know there are some pretty big fans of CP out there and i know some of you are incredibly hardcore. But has anyone counted the steps from one ride to the next?

The world looks better at 420 feet in the air... first ride May 14th, 2005

only 997 laps left on MF..

So i resurrect dead post... is that a bad thing?

4. But they are reeeeaaaally big steps. :)

Wow I think I have found my new mission in life for the summer! I'm sure the squeeze will be really excited about carting a notebook around with us this summer and documenting our walks! Talk about the ultimate CP trivia questions! Hey, wait a sec. Don't they use some kind of step counters for the turkey trot every October? I'm sure the Coaster Mania guys can tell you the distance in steps from MF to TTF and back after their rides this morning! Unfortunately I was unable to attend Coaster Mania this year. :(

Sometimes work takes priority.

No, but I did take my GPS receiver to the park today and marked locations of a few rides...

No one but a hardcore CP ethusiast would even bother reading this topic, or even respond. We are truly a very odd group of people, aren't we? I love it though! I wonder how people can't seem to like CP.

Why would anyone care how far apart they are. Are you making an list of rides to do. OK First we are walking the 800 steps from the main gate to raptor and so on. This is a rediculos topic.

Because we are the ultimate CP freaks... That, and people with odometers might be interested as well.

I should take my hand held GPS next time and put it in a nip cargo pocket...I can get the distance* between rides (+/- 10-15 ft or so) and the actual top speed we hit.

*Get distance then divide by average footstep length.

That's like asking... what is the airspeed velocity of an unladen swallow?

I might just have to count my steps between the rides on Tuesday...it would be quite amusing.

I really hope that is a joke man. And if not you might as well wear a count dracula costume while you count the steps. btw it would be almost impossible consentrating on the step counting due to the high amount of nice @$$ in that park...

How accurate is the 'top speed' part of your GPS? I would think it'd actually not be very accurate since you change direction and what not.

Its accurate down to about .1 of a mph when I'm out on the lake (Erie). I don't know how accurate it would be with the changes in direction and such because they are so sudden. If I don't forget, I want to try it the next time I go to CP though.

I think I've found something to do on my visit this month, thats if I can find the time, I'll be at CP with a FIRST TIMER (gasp), I didn't know they exsisted. I'll be telling him all about every ride, and explaining which place to get french fries.
But I'll try to count my paces and let ya know.

Kyle-

I had my GPS in my pocket for an entire day at CP earlier this season and, according to it, Magnum is in the lake.

I think my map is a little bit off. Or Magnum is sinking.
