I was just wondering about the theme park in the TV show Step by Step. They show the woodie and a steel looper. I was just wondering what park it was. Step by Step is on at 2 o'clock EST through 3 o'clock. It is on the channel ABC Family.
It's [Six Flags] Magic Mountain.
They just (badly) added the water next to Colossus (the wooden coaster) to make it appear like it was somewhere else.

Isn't that also where National Lampoon's Vacation takes place? WALLEYWORLD!
"And let's also not forget--let's not forget, Dude--that keeping wildlife, an amphibious rodent, for uh, domestic, you know, within the city--that isn't legal either. "
Yep.
And then one day you find ten years have got behind you
No one told you when to run, you missed the starting gun
I always thought it was SFMM but the grassy area made me wonder. And the ocean never really registered. I figure Cali..ocean..it makes sence.
"Ive got the need, the need for speed!"
Yeah it shows them driving by a sign that says "Port Washington, Wisconsin" right before the amusement park setting.

I heard that it was Six Flags Great America. and that where the ocean was is parking lot. This same person claimed that he captured an image from the opening credits where the parking lot was partialy visable.
This is all hearsay though. Take it with a grain of salt.

Nope, its Six Flags Magic Mountain alright. The white wooden roller coaster is Colossus. American Eagle, the white wooden roller coaster at Great AMerica is much longer, more like an out and back roller coaster. Towards the begin of the opening you can see Revolution the white steel roller coaster that goes upside down. The very last scene with the ocean, if you look far enough to the left you can see Viper. (red and white steel mega looper)
