Stengel's 500th

Gomez's avatar

Werner Stengel has designed almost every coaster that is noted for being great during the past 50 years. In short, almost every ride made by B&M and Intamin over the past few decades, plus many others.

He's didn't design WT or any ride built by an American manufacturer (Arrow, GCII, S&S, Gravity Group).

On a interview a few years back he stated that Millennium Force was his favorite ride.

Anyway I checked out his companies website, Ingenieurbuero Stengel, and found a interesting fact about Maverick. It's Stengel's 500th coaster. Its nice to think someone designed 499 coasters and number 500 looks to be one of the best. He sure hasn't lost any of his magic.

I don't remember this being posted before so I did, sorry if it was.

Yeah, I saw that back about 2 weeks ago. I thought I had read it on a press release earlier though, so I didn't say anything.

^That's what I thought too. I couldn't find the press release though. Oh well, worth noting.

How cool! Bravo, Stengel, for 500 wonderful coasters. May there be a minimum of 500 more in your future!

Even if not a record, that's one milestone for this ride that may not have yet been noted, after all.

Interesting, on their site, Maverick is listed as "Not allowed to say" and it also shows a woodie manufactured by Intamin. Also, most of the pictures on the site are of CP coasters (MF, and TD for 2)

^Mainly because MF and TTD were and still are their most radical work they've done. Both rides are icons for the roller coaster industry.

It was on a list of their projects. It had all the ones coming for next year. I guess they just hadn't updated that part
