Staying at Light House Point. Need advice

Hello Cedar Point experts. I'll be staying at Light House Point this weekend for the first time. I'm wondering if you guys can answer a few questions for me.
1. We will probably plan on making one meal on the grill but we will need to find other places to eat the rest of time. Where can we go for breakfast that's nearby? Should we just head over to the Breakers? Any other meal suggestions? For lunch we will just eat in the park.
2. What's the best entrance to use while staying at Light House Point in order to Maximize our early entry?
Thanks

Magnium Entrance Is The Best,Walk Through The Soak City Parking Lot Towards Rip Cord,And Just Follow The People.

1. Meal suggestions Diane's on 250 I believe that the name but someone should know if not. Famous Daves, Fridays are both pretty good to.

2. There a entrance just across light house point just walk in Challenge park and its there.

I dont know about you, but when it comes to breakfast I would really just bring a toaster and cereal. There is breakfast in the Breakers, but Im more of the mindset of having a light breakfast when going to amusement parks.

We always take bagels, fruit and cereal to eat for breakfast. We eat lunch in the park - sometimes dinner too. Or, we'd eat at Breakwater Cafe. We always enjoy eating there at sunset. The service is hit or miss, but we still like it.

Are there coffee makers in the cottages?
My wife will die if she doesn't get coffee. (or kill me)
Thanks for the help

Where's Mr. Scott when we need him? :[

Yes,All Cabins And Cottages Have A Coffee Maker,Supplied With Coffee,Might Not Be Your Brand.

Eat a light breakfast in the cabin, its fun to eat on the deck and feed the birds. The coffee maker is one of those small hotel sizes, so bring lots of small filters if you wife is a big coffee drinker.

Then just plan on an early lunch in the park.

I also agree you shouldn't waste your time leaving your cabin to go for a big breakfast elsewhere. Just enjoy the morning at your cabin/cottage & then head for early entrance & a hot lunch later.

Reminder: no more breakfast available at Fridays anymore.

You guys might want to think twice about using coffee makers provided at hotels - not just Cedar Point. You have no idea what's been in there before.

Running a carafe of water through them will sufficiently clean them. Plus, the human body has one of those handy-dandy defense systems, and seems to work rather well, given how long humans have managed to survive.

5 points to djdaemon for the use of the word carafe.

To address the Breakfast question. When we were there last weekend we went to Breakers for the Breakfest Buffet at The Coffee Shop. It wasn't anything to write home about for sure.

I've heard the buffet at Breakwater Cafe is much better, and its closer to LHP.

On a related sidenote... Last week was my first stay at LHP and I was incredibly impressed. The cottage was very nice, and the view from the deck was incredible. It was the first time I have truly felt like I was staying at a Cedar Point "Resort". The group of us stayed there for 2 nights, but I easily think I could have stayed 2 more nights just to enjoy more time around the cottage, and grilling out on the deck.

Anytime I stay in the park with a group, we will go to LHP. The only exception is Opening Weekend when I use my Getaway Guide coupons to get a room in Breakers Bon Air for 30 bucks a night!

It may be run down and not the best accommodation's, but the price is right for sure!

Wnen my family and I stayed at LHP in July we brought boxes of cereals and milk for breakfast. That should hold you over. And by all means you must go to Chet and Matts sometime during your stay. We when there 3 times during our 6 day stay. It was worth the ride.

On the first Monday and Tuesday of the season we stayed at a cottage for one night. There only ended up being 3 of us so we went to Meijer and picked up some microwavable dinners, bread, lunchmeat, and drinks. I would have fired up the grill but it's not legal to bring firewood across the border nor did I really want to haul it from Windsor to Sandusky. On Closing Weekend I'll be there for 2 nights and hopefully 6 people and maybe I'll look around town and find some firewood for sale. It's almost $500 for the 2 nights so we probably won't be eating in too many restaurants.

You cook on a grille using firewood? Why wouldn't you use charcoal?

*embarassed look on face* Firewood to start the fire?

Use either one of the firelogs (the compressed wood that's wrapped in paper) or lighter fluid.

Sometimes the fire logs do a better job because they will burn for a while to the the charcoal going.

Hmm. Sounds simple. Whenever my grandmother barbeques she gets the fire going with wood then adds the charcoal, we do it the same way at work with our 10 foot grill. I will have to try the charcoal and lighter fluid method!

We'll miss you MrScott and Pete
