All of this complaining about how "The POV will ruin the element of surprise of the tunnel" and blah, blah, blah. Anyone who isn't an enthusiast (which is most of the GP) doesn't know how to follow a roller coasters path of travel, let alone remember it 10 minutes after seeing it.
I have literally had people in front of me in line for Mantis that have said that it doesn't go upside down. The GP is stupid to what we know and remember when it comes to Amusement Parks and rides. They won't remember, and they wont care. They are more amused at the fact that the TV is shiny, rather than the exposing of the "surprise" element of the tunnel.

I agree. I went with my friend who doesn't know much about coasters but still enjoys them a lot. When we were in line I told him not to look at the pov because it would spoil some of the surprises. He looked anyway though.
While we were riding we entered the tunnel and stopped almost totally (which by the way I don't like nearly as much as going straight through the tunnel quickly without slowing down). He asked me what happened and before you knew it we launched at 70mph. I found it funny that he didn't know it was coming when we just watched the video in the queue.

So I just got back from my second Cedar Point trip this year and the first trip with the LCD TV and it lived up to it's hype. I watched the TV and immediately got out of the line because I was so satisfied watching what my ride would have been like.

Again, what's the big deal? And by the way, I am now calling Maverick my favorite coaster in the park. It just is so darn fun! I think if the bring the fog back, fix up a waterfall by where the old heartline twist was and build the last canyon, it will only get better.

No, I hated the water hose, I believe I even stated that somewhere previously. I said, fix up a waterfall...like instead of a hose aimlessly shooting water into the pond, put a waterfall on the canyon most visible from the bridge. I think that would look faaaaar better and not get all the complainers wet while riding.

I was there this past weekend and it was still there but it was turned off all weekend.
