The three slides to the right of those in the picture were being painted during last two Halloweekends. I remember one was yellow and another pink, but can't remember the third color. They were pretty much finished by the end of the season, so that half of the park will have a nice, fresh look to it next year.
Not sure what all they could really do to the west side to freshen it up. Eerie Falls shouldn't require paint, Zoom Flume could maybe be painted, but not all that necessary. They recently put in that new sign at the wave pool, added Toft's and Subway last year, and Splash Zone is still pretty colorful.
If I'm not mistaken, most of the major attractions on the west side were part of the 1997 expansion and most of the east side consists of the original slides from the late 80s. East is definitely well overdue for these improvements, it will be a nice change.

With all the people who keep referring to the new Soak City attraction as "Matt Slides", I think I am *very* happy that Cedar Fair has a new President..........

That would be the kiddie version.
For the thick: I'm just a little concerned about what they would be called if the old boss were still in charge.

Soak City opened in 1988. I remember it vividly, as our family went to CP every year from around 1984 to 1989, after which we went to King's Island for a few years.
1988: Soak City waterpark opens. The original complex consisted of 10 slides.
In 1990, Main Stram and Tadpole Town were added.
In 1995, Zoom Flume, Renegade River and Choo-Choo Lagoon were added.
A 6.5-acre addition in 1997 included a 22,500-sq. ft. wave pool, an action slide area with three twisting enclosed inner tube raft slides, an activity pool section with various interactive water elements and an adult activity area with whirpools and a swimup refreshment center.
Splash Zone was added in 2004.
