Space Spiral Stuck, What would Happen?

This question just kind of dawned on me. What happens if the space spiral gets stuck on the tower and they cant get it down? How do they get people out of the cabin? Thanks.

Sunday, Sunday, Sunday! Are your ready for some speed? We've got 120 miles per hour! Are you ready to get vertical? We've got 420 feet. Are you ready for the tallest and fastest rollercoaster in the world?! ARE YOU READY FOR TOP THRILL DRAGSTER?!?
In case of ride stoppages your seat cushions double as parachutes. You just hook up the rip cord to the grabs on the inside of the cabin and jump.

Thats right Virginia, I am Santa Claus.

In the event of a loss of cabin pressure, proceed to the emergency exits. An evacuation chute will deploy - cross your arms and slide down the chute, keeping your arms and legs inside the chute at all times! ;)

I believe that, in the event of a power loss, they are able to either hook up a generator or hand-crank the ride back to the bottom. I've seen it happen once, and the cabin comes back down verrrry slowly.

I've seen a rope ladder under the seat in front of the exit door. I highly doubt that would be the recommended way to evacuate people, and it doesn't look like it would be long enough if you were more than halfway up.

The rope ladder is there for a ride operator to reach the upper level, should the ride stop and have guests up there. It's only about seven feet long.

From the control room, it's possible to raise and lower the cabin. That's how it gets parked at night.

I would imagine there would be some sort of manual way to lower the cabin as well.

If it got stuck and an emergency chute did deploy, I think we would have a new trill ride on our hands!!!! Something like 25 -30 storys, straight down!!!!
then the people praying for a rollback on dragster would start to go on space spiral for a chance on that!

I wonder if there is something you can crawl down in the actual tower.

Ohio State, here I come!

I seem to remember seeing a post somewhere about there being a ladder inside the actual tower. I could be wrong though...

I think there is a ladder inside the tower. The ride did get stuck sometime during the 80's where they had to unload riders through the tower from the top. There was some type of transimission failure, so they couldn't lower the cabin, they had to raise it to the top.

I'm pretty sure there's a ladder inside of the tower, I've seen a hatch like door on the side of it, and I don't know why you would go in there otherwise.

There is a ladder inside the tower that goes all the way up, however, its main purpose is for access to the electrical components at the top, some of which are for the wireless internet that CP uses..

Just recently there was a 1.5 hour power outtage that effected most of the front of the park. It was quite interesting for as soon as they cleared the problem, we had a nasty thunderstorm roll in.

Point in progress however... Maintenance had a crane come in, seemed to latch on to it, and assisted it to the ground. Only a Ride Op and one guest was stuck on it from my vantage point. I was actually busy watching them put the elevator to use on Raptor at about 115 ft up. It was quite interesting to see some of the devotion come out of some of the Silver Tags though. Power loss had occured just as Wicked Twister was launching, and it only made it 10 yards down the strait. A couple Silver Tags, an Area Manager and any Employee they could dig up pulled all 6.3 tons of Twister back into the station with a rope. Heard it was a simular ordeal for the big wheel even.

I tell you this much, I'd be as pale as Casper should my butt been caught at the top of the Big Wheel or even Space Spiral. My fear of heights enhances my ride experience, but I loath the day I get stuck on top of one of these lovely coasters or rides.
