Space Spiral air conditioning?

I have heard some people talking about Space Spiral getting air conditioning. Does anyone know if this is true? I have been to Cedar Point twice this season...So far it has been closed whenever I go by it.
I don't know but that sure would be NICE! My family and I where going to get on Space Spiral last year and we walked up to the door and this huge wave of heat poured out. It was already 85* outside and the ride host said, "It's 98* in there right now, No windows". My mom said noway and we went off to DT to get out of the sun. Talk about HOT! I hope they get some a/c in there. That ride is a nice breather/change of pace during the middle of the day! :-)

Didn't it have air conditioning years ago?

Yes it did. I'm not sure when it was removed. When it had air conditioning, you sometimes got sprinkled with some condensation from the A/C if you were standing close to the ride and the cabin was up.

OMG! The Space Spiral is leaning!!" Must be the weight of that new air conditioning system everyone keeps hypothesizing about...

But it's so true.

Space Spiral without air conditioning is like hell. I felt like I couldn't breath in there, it was so hot. But the view was nice and it was pretty tight seeing Millennium Force from up there.

Oh yeah, I love observation cabins with A/C systems. I know Knott's sky cabin has about 5 of them installed and man can it get icy in there. Its great!
Space Spiral cabin used to have air conditoning years ago but the system broke so often that it was not used - the system could not keep up due to the opening of the doors every 2 minutes and the system would frequently shut down. Not sure why it would be down this year unless it is for wind - not always wind speed but also direction if cables are twisting.

It wasn't windy the day I was there.... and they had people riding on top of the cabin as pictured in http://www.bholcomb.com/cp051403/29.html

I kind of wish I could ride atop that thing.. that'd be awesome

I rode on the top once - yea it is a great view up there!

If mainteance is doing that then they are usually looking at the cabin rotation/cables or going to the top to work on the components.

If they were riding on top, I think it was down because of mechanical problems, not wind. I'm pretty sure there is a mechanical room on top, with a hatch to climb in from the top of the cabin.
