Space Pirates

It appears Cedar Point soon won't be the only ones with space pirates. It looks like Disney is capitalizing on this once-big element on Disaster Transport. The space pirates live again in Disney's all new animated feature...Treasure Planet. The movie comes out Nov. 27th

Is it just me or does this movie seem to be a horrible rip off or Treasure Island? Instead, it's based in space with space pirates. I haven't seen what it's all about, but it smells like rip off to me.

Uh, I wouldn't call it a rip off. Yes, it is a retelling of Treasure Island-"as you've never seen it before". It even says that in the trailer. Disney has a nack of taking stories, fables, legends from the past and re-telling them. They've done it with Peter Pan, Hunchback of Notre Dame, Tarzan, Beauty and the Beast, etc. Universal is doing it with the comic super heroes. Of course these super heroes aren't an original idea from Universal, but that doesn't make any of those movies a rip off. Just because a movie isn't a completely original idea doesn't make it a bad movie.

Too bad first time riders of DT this year no nothing of the space pirates! Unless they happen to be riding with a DT veteran. ;)

Ah...the space pirates, being "out of control" and that huge explosion. As corny as it was, it did add to the ride.

As for Treasure Planet, the animation and graphics alone is enough for me to want to see this "updated" version of Treasure Island. You should have watched Beauty and the Beast tonight...you would have gotten an eyeful of what Treasure Planet is going to be.
