Soundproofing?

Does anybody have an idea if Dragster will be soundproofed? Xcelerator's supports were filled with sand, and used Isolator Pads to cut down on track noise. Should/would T-452 be built with similar soundproofing methods?

I doubt this was done with CP's new ride. I wish it was however.

Question: Is the sound reduction noticable on Xcelerator?

I was always under the assumption that it was local concern that dictated Xcelerator be quieted down. I thought they didn't want the noise in the neighborhood.

But whatever the case, I wouldn't think they'd 'silence' this coaster.

Xcelerator is extremely quiet. I mean all you hear is the launch and thats not even loud...i think the screams coming from the train are louder lol. There are some large white squares that look like they would be placed between the track and support, maybe those are noise reducers?!?! And from what I have seen sofar, all out supports are closed off at the ends so i dont think those will get sand ;)
The noise will make it better. I am told that the sound of S.TE is incredible and can be heard from all over the park. I think the only concern might be for the people staying over at Breakers.
S:TE and Xcelerator have complete different launching systems so I don't think it will have the same loud launch as S:TE...it might be a little louder than Xcelerator though because of the residential area it resides in.

The launch on Xcelerator is VERY quiet... if it were to come to CP, then you couldn't hear it if Power Tower let out a *whoosh* at the same time.

You'd be able to hear the people screaming, though... :)

Half of the reason I love WT and Raptor is the sounds of the trains as they zoom around on the track. Okay, the clicking on the lift hill for Raptor, Maggie, et al. (except for Millie) does get annoying after awhile, but I'd almost hate to lose the "roar" of the trains on the new coaster, whatever it's final shape/name/form/route may be.

Really the launch on this is similar to the lift Millennium Force (except much faster), and we know how quiet that is.

With MF being 2 trains later in the night and the lift getting full power right away, it almost felt like a launch, albeit for a brief period. I mean I got a kick out of going 2-13 MPH in 2.6 seconds :). I can't wait to try the new system, I think it will be vastly superior to LIMS.

S:TR won't be too loud.

Not exactly... The 'sled' thing that carries the train is similar, but how they're powered is totally different.

S:TR?

I could care less that Dragster is loud or muffled. Personally, the scream of WT is one of the coolest sounds in the park. But since this thing is so fast and loud, who knows how much sound this thing will produce?
