Sore arms/legs?

Jeff's avatar
Any of you other media whores as sore as I am today in the arms and legs? The only thing I can account for is either a lot of shivering (it got colder as the day went on) or just fighting the G's with my arms and legs.

And I thought I was getting too old for this coaster business.

My arms are really sore today, and I didn't take that many rides. I'd chalk it up to mowing the lawn last night except that the places where my arms are sore coincide with the places where the shoulder bar ridges dig into me. No trouble with the legs, although on my last ride I strained something near my stomach (and above the beltline) when I got into the train. Something about the walk up the seat back in front of me. Ergonomically, the ride leaves quite a bit to be desired!

My arms hurt in general, I'm guessing from trying to keep them out in front of me. I experienced no problem with the restraint.

I felt a little sore after coming back from Kennywood opening day a couple weeks ago. I attributed it to not being in good coaster riding shape after the long winter. If I had sore thighs from Phantom's Revenge, imagine what Magnum is going to do to me! ;)

Really...I just might take off of work the day after Coastermania then...:)

The entire upper half of my body ACHES! My arms, neck, shoulders ribs and back are SCREAMING! I did 20 laps though, not to mention the p.m. rerides and I was definitely keeping my arms and legs out. 95% of my rides were in the back so the pain I feel is probably my own fault. My legs aren't hurting at all but I am so sore other wise I couldn't even ride my horses this morning! Raptor is going to KILL me Sunday! :)

Fear the Mullet!

I can't believe how sore I am today. If this is any indication, Sunday night and Monday are going to be a nightmare. My body is just starting to right itself now and it's over 24 hours since I took on the Twister. I not going to lie though, I'd do it again in a heart beat.

Maybe it was the launch? My body ached for days after Hulk at IOA.

I personally don't think it was the launch, although that "got" my neck a couple of times cause I forgot to put my head back. I think my personal pain is defiinitely from riding the back and when you get "pulled" up backwards you can definitely feel the G's. I do feel alittle better today, but have to agree with Sparty my equaliberium was totally shot. My head felt just like it used to after a long night of beer and shots! :(

Do it again? I'll be right there with all us media whores :)

Am I the only one who wasn't sore after my rides? :)

But... Wicked Twister is quite intense and you won't find me riding it several times without getting off...

I rode Wicked Twister 36 times between 530am and 2pm and the only problems I had was that I was feeling a lil' dizzy. I wasn't sore or anything. I guess I'm too damn young for that stuff. :)

BTW, I thought it was a fantastic coaster, and it wasn't nearly as similar to the other Impulses as I thought it'd be. Even though I'd rather ride WT over the others, V2/SUE still have their place as I really do love the holding brake and floatage on the back spike. It's just that I like the twisting back spike more. :)

This whole thread sounds like a caffe-klatch at the Retirement Home for Coaster Geezers!

As I get older (I'm ffffffff . . . ffffffffffffff . . . fffffffffff . . . 40!) I find myself getting beat up more and more easily by some coasters. Arrows especially. YIKES!

But I muddle through somehow. They may kill me some day, but what a way to go!

Wicked Twists:

I already have visible bruises on my (upper) arms (just below the shoulder) from the laps today. Spent most of the time riding near the back (those backward twists are great though -- well worth the bruises! LOL)
