Son of The Beast or MF

wich ride do you think will be the beter ride in the next five years the Cedar Points giga coaster Millennium Force or PKI first lopping wooden coaster Son of The beast?
MF will be on top in the next five years. But son of beast from what i've seen so far is up there and will draw some crowd down south.

Perhaps we should reserve judgement for when we can actually ride them.

Anyways, in 2005 there is a good chance that SoB will shake worse then MS and Raging Wolf Bobs combined making it almost unrideable.
Where did you find that out?? I never heard that would happen.

I've never seen so many fortune tellers in one place...

It's less of a fortune then just looking at a few facts:
1.RCCA usally builds rides that don't last that long and beat themselves up.
2.As we've discussed with MS that the trains rip up the track becuase of the speed they are travelling at the bottom of the drop. SoB is taller and will probally do the same thing.
3.Premier (Rides not Parks) is making the trains and that is the scary thing. If they track anything like there steel coaster trains do then SoB could be worse then it needs to be.
I hope I am Wrong and that RCCA and Premier get there act together and create an awesome ride and it's true that only time will tell, but right now my educated guess is that a few years down the line MF will still be running fine and the Worlds first hyper looping woodie will already of been reprofiled and braked just to make it rideable. *** This post was edited by JeremyG on 1/7/00. ***
I agree Jeremy. A 200ft. wooden coaster has a chance of being unbearable to ride in time. Let's imagine the tables were turned and that CP was getting SOB and PKI was getting MF. I would be jealous over PKI. So it's MF all the way.

I don't think you need height in order to have a good wooden coaster. I still think the Big Dipper is one of the better woodie's I have been on, and it's what 70-80 feet maybe. Steel=height and speed.

I get SOO sick and tired of these so and so vs so and so threads-there are TONS of them on WOC--drives me nuts
Jeff was right on when he said we should all wait until we ride them to choose
my reply is
they are 2 completely different coasters
2 completely different designs
2 completely different manufacturers
2 COMPLETELY different parks
WHY would ANYONE on a CP site ask such a question?

What SOB means to me is I will have to drive an hour to PKI this season and check it out
then never go back again---instead driving the 2.5 hour one way trip to CP 20x this season...
lol

But ironically they are from the same designer. Go figure.

I'm sorry, but I'm gonna have to say SOB is going to be the better of the two coasters. I think it provides a little more intreging design than Millennium Force.

After 5 years, I think Millennium Force will out-do SOB for smoothness sake. I'm not saying that SOB will be extremely rough, but you have to consider, woodies do get rough through time. It's just a fact of nature, unless PKI knows something no one else does! :)
