Well, I saw first hand what these types of shows do. My grandma is all afraid of coasters and wants me to change my hobbies. You know why???, because of media. She saw the SFOT problem on tv and sounded like she was all scared.
Why don't we send a helicopter out to look at a car stopped on the side of the road because their cigarette lighter broke down!
I actually used a car-breaks-down analogy with a worried person once that didn't want to ride Corkscrew because the lift chain broke. They weren't to happy with my dose of reality though! And a walkdown? A disaster? I would love to be in a walkdown! (unless it was MF..that would take forever)
------------- MALENEM FORSE!!!111 IT ROXOR YUR WORLD!!1! A bad day at CP is better than a good day at work.
I'm pretty sure I know what the Dateline special is going to be about. It was in the news section of Coasterbuzz. It had to do with a rotor-type ride and a kid getting they're foot caught or crushed...strictly operator error...so let's blaim the amusement industry!
Oh yeah, and here's the killer...they showed footage of Raptor and Stealth, and guess where the accident happened...that's right, Six Flags Great America! You'd think that if they were going to cover a story that they'd actually have footage of the park and that type of ride in the story! But no!...they have to show footage of rides that have nothing to do with the accident just to gain the viewer's attention...pro-Markey bastards...
*media ranting is over*
Sorry if I offened any media that visit these boards that don't jump to conclusions and mislead the general public...

Actually, CP_bound, from what I have read elsewhere, I suspect that the show may be focused on California, AB-850, and the story behind http://www.saferparks.org.

...I still don't see why they can't show footage of the park it happened at...instead, they are falsely representing Cedar Point.
