Just some off-beat thoughts I had on my last visit:
Do the construction crews and people dismantling the rides stay in the park at the hotels? Or do they just shut the hotels all down?
What does the breakdown of the hotels include, i.e, do they remove and store the bed linens? It would seem "yucky" to be there on opening day knowing the sheets have been on the beds all winter.
What do the restaurants and hotels do with all the perishable foods, like the coffee, condiments, beverages, etc?
Full time maintenance crews live in the area. Construction contractors either travel (cause they are local) or stay at near by hotels.
Cedar Point resorts shut down by storing all the linens, removing beds that will be replaced in the spring and basically shutting down the different wings of the hotels.
Any leftover food is sold out of the warehouse to full-time employees.
Has a new breed of geek been born? Hotel-offseason enthusiast? ;)
The path you tread is narrow, and the drop is sheer and very high.
I'm pretty sure they Winterize also.
