I was just wondering what you guys would like to see/ could see happening at Soak City in the next few years. I'd personally like to see a new slide complex of some sort, or maybe a Proslide. However from a business standpoint im not sure if Cedar Fair would even get much of a return from any major investment into Soak City.

You know, the biggest thing I'd like to see is another wavepool. What irritates me more than anything is on a busy (or even kinda busy) day, the wave pool fills up with morons in those inner tubes. So, if you don't have an innertube, you are smacked around by the people in the innertubes.
I would really like to see 2 wavepools. One which allows tubes, one which doesn't.
I think its wishful thinking by myself, though. I do believe they have 2 or 3 at Michigan's Adventure with a setup like that, however.
Just my 2 cents.
There are multiple (I think 3) wave pools at MA, but unless I missed something last year, none of them are "tube only" or "no tubes". Which is one of my complaints. Besides, how much fun is a wave pool when you are sitting on a stupid tube.

Soak City is one of the top 10 water parks in the country for attendance. The latest attendance figures I could find were for 2003, and Soak City had more than 340,000 visitors. With a top 10 park, why would Cedar Fair want to close it?
They won't close it, but I don't see major expantion, either. It's a nice compliment to CP, but I doubt the main draw. That's CP's role in the scheme of things.
And yes, MiAdv has 3 wave pools. Boogie Beach, Commotion Ocean & Tidal Wave. Unfortunatley, the water park side of things is the main draw to MiAdv.
Maybe after Cedar Fair adds a campground and sit-down restaurant, the ride part of the park will expand. That place is just begging for some steel.

I see Soak City as a key part of the resort side of CP, in getting people to stay longer, and in the sales of upgraded season tickets.
There would be a nice return on investment for Soak City expansion, and I can see a Master Blaster and a Tornado in Soak City's future.
I'd rather be in my boat with a drink on the rocks,
than in the drink with a boat on the rocks.
Oh, I don't doubt they'll add new rides, but I DO doubt any major growth (ie: part of the campground/Lighthouse point area being absorbed.)

Did anybody even say they wanted to close it? I must have missed something.
Since we are talking about multiple wave pools, I just want to mention that Splashin' Safari at Holiday World is currently adding their 2nd wave pool to the mix.
I would love to see more slides at Soak City that can be ridden with other riders. Whether it is a two person tube or a large 4 person raft, more slides that I can enjoy with my friends are what would get me to return for another visit to Soak City.

i would love to see a tornado, another wave pool (one that is bigger), a complex like thunder falls, and free admission, like kings island and geauga lake.
Come check out the videos at www.extremepki.com
You aren't going to be seeing free admission to Soak City anytime soon, although it would be nice. But I would like see a flowrider and a masterblaster eventually.

Cedar Fair is targeting the new Wildwater Kingdom at GL to be their main draw. That's the main reason why I don't see much going on at Soak City. Castaway Bay also has much of CF attention in terms of waterparks in Sandusky.
Soak City is only in the top ten of waterpark attendence because you have Cedar Point next door. You can put anything next to CP and it'll draw crowds. Look at Sandusky's collection of indoor waterparks, do you think they'd be there if CP wasn't.
