I was at Soak City Memorial Day weekend and it was pretty good. The slide towers in front of the park are just okay. They seem and look really old. The two speed slides were pretty fun. The only thing about the speed slides were on the left one, at the end there is this box(i think it was a pool fan). It was a safety hazard because it blends in with the water and can hurt your feet really bad if you hit into it. When you go up the towers in the front of the park, thier are SO MANY bugs that get in your face. The back part of the park is pretty good. Erie Falls is really fun & dark. Zoom Flume(the big raft slide is really fun but you have to walk up 7 or 8 flights of steps. Splash zone is pretty fun & colorful. Although most slides were not open and were really tight, they feel really fast and are more thrilling then the tower slides in the front. Breakers Bay(the wave pool), is fun but the lifeguards are SO strict about staying behind the cone.THe bottom of the pool is very ruff. The lazy rivers are fun. One of the ones is slower(the older one) The other one has random water buckets, and has more waves. Compared to Dorney Parks Wildwater Kingdom, wildwater is alot better. The lazy river is one of those hilly ones, the slides are alot better, and the lifeguards are so nice there.
SOAK CITY SHOULD ADD:
1. Theming or color to the waterslides
2. A ProSlide Bowl, Proslide Funnel, and Uphill or ZIP coaster.
3. IF #2 doesn't work, make a Proslide tower that the Boardwalk at hershey has. (it is really compact so they could tear down one of those outdated towers)
If you disagree or have other suggestions, put them below.
THANKS & SORRY FOR MAKING THIS SO LONG! :)
Yeah the only thing I go to Soak City for is the Raging River. That thing is great, one of the best rivers Ive been on, the rest of the park has sub par water slides. I really wish they would add a Proslide Tornado, those racing mat speed slides, a water coaster, something. But in order to do that they either have to take some more out of the SC parking lot or Campers Village. I dont see them tearing down slides to put in new ones and at this point I dont see them going into the Campers Village or the parking lot.
Another factor to consider is that Soak City is still a separately gated attraction and I almost think CP doesn't want to add more to the waterpark due to its low capacity issues and that it only attracts a limited number of people during the waterpark season which is very short already.
I've been once before a few years ago and it was okay. I'll probably stop in during Coastermania if the weather permits. Other than that it really does nothing for me.
We'll miss you MrScott and Pete
I'd go to Soak City more often if the water in the lazy
rivers ( mainstream and the other one?) wasn't so cold.
Too chilly for my taste.
^ You think the water is chilly? When was the last time you were there? It was 70 degrees when i was there and the water was 79.5 degrees. Thats what the lifegurard said to another person.:)
The water park at Bucsh Gardens Williamsburg puts all other to shame. Soak City is dated and seriously lacking in many areas, IMO.

Kevinj, I love Water Country USA, but if you really enjoy water parks you simply have to go to New Braunfels, TX and hit Schlitterbahn. It transcends water parks.
Soak City is long overdue for an upgrade. There are so many water attractions it is lacking. A master blaster (or Zip coaster) would definitely draw more people, while a bowl (or funnel) and a racer would make nice additions.
Haven't been to Soak City since last summer, but usually
go about half a dozen times a year. You may be right, but
it seems that the warmer the weather gets, the colder the
water gets in the lazy rivers. For sure that's the case in
the hotel swimming pools.
I've heard of that place, Touchdown...never been, but it looks like the Mecca of waterparks.

I was there this monday and spent an hour floating around the mainstream river. Didn't go on any of the slides, the wind was too cold to be standing at the top of the tower while I was wet. The only 2 complaints I had are probably because they just opened that weekend and were probably understaffed still.
1) The bottom of the river was very dirty. Maybe they just hadn't had a chance to clean it up completely yet, but there was dirt and leaves and dead bugs all over the bottom. It didn't bother me too much, as I was just floating on an inner tube, but if I had to walk on it I would have gotten out.
2) They didn't have enough lifeguards on duty to continuously let you float around the pool. They'd let a group of people go at once and a lifeguard walked almost halfway around with you until another one took over. When you got back to the beginning a lifeguard would stop you for like 5 minutes until the first one got back to the beginning of the pool before letting you go again. That was just safety precautions though, and I've never had that happen to me on any other trips. Once it gets warmer and they have more staff I assume it won't keep happening.
Didn't get to check out the locker prices this year to see if they went up or not.
^ Most of the time, the river bottom is dirty. Every time i went (except once) they do that stupid line leader thing with the lifeguards!:)
That is going to happen at the beginning of the season and end of the season. Its not so much that they are short staffed, but rather there are not enough guests in the water park to justify keeping on extra staff. Guards that are not needed are sent home to help the budget. Same thing happens in Rides and every other department.
As for the leaves, bugs, etc being in the river. Well this was one complaint I hated getting. If its a full on mess, then there is a problem with keeping it clean. But mulch, sand, bugs, dirt, those kind of things are going to blow into the water. Especially in Main Stream with the trees right over top of the water. You would literally need 5 life guards to do nothing but clean just to make it look good. And even then its not going to be 100% clean. That will pretty much never happen unless you rip out all of the landscaping within 200 feet and didn't let anyone in the river all day. Even stuff like band-aids are going to be in there. But those things don't make it "unhealthy" to swim in.
I wholly agree that Soak City needs an upgrade. I would love to see just a big drop slide (see: The Cliff at the Beach Waterpark near Cincinnati), and either a master blaster, a funnel, or a bowl. There are a few decent parts of that waterpark, but a few good slides could make it really enjoyable.
