Soak City Lot to be closed 9/25

A quick heads up: The Soak City Lot was closed last night, and will be closed today(9/25) for a "Garbage Truck Rodeo". This made the Gemini lot completely full last night.

"Garbage Truck Rodeo"?

Yes, as strange as it sounds, a "Garbage Truck Rodeo". From the Magnum lift hill, Tank and I got a good view of the 35 or so garbage trucks, plus many orange cones arranged around the parking lot. My guess is that the 'Rodeo' involves testing of skills in backing up a truck, etc.

Tank: Great joining you on your 94-97th laps on the Magnum. Did your wife join you for number 100?

Yeah that is exactly what it is, a test of their driving skills. They do the same thing with the school busses I drive. Every year they have cones set up into obstacles like the backwards serpentine. These are the same things they test you on at the DOT for your licence. We all have contests on who can do these the fastest and best. It doesn't surprise me at all that garbage truck drivers do it also!

I did a rodeo driving a bookmobile. It was so much fun.
