Soak City gets the Cabana treatment

MI Adventure gets the swans, SC gets the private cabana treatment.

Think "Soak City luxury boxes."

This looks like an interesting deal---since we're taking our "big trip" during a July weekend (I know, I know, but them's the breaks when you want hot weather and work for a living) this might be just the ticket for a bit of an escape from the madness on Saturday.

"Both sun and shade are always available."
Hmmm...

I wouldn't want to be at guest services the first day it rained all day and "the sun wasn't available".

Otherwise, I think this is a great idea and I'd pay the extra money to give the kids someplace where they could get out of the sun for a while.

I wonder if Soak City will allow families who have paid for the cabanas to bring in their own outside food and beverages (for example, a picnic lunch) to eat. Somehow, I have the suspicion that would probably be a "no," but I think that allowing this privilege for cabanas members only might be a little extra incentive for people to rent them for the day. If I brought a cooler and a couple beach bags, I would want to keep them all in one centralized location.

This sounds a lot like club seats at the ballpark. I don't think that bringing in a picnic lunch would be a big selling point, the price point is such that paying extra for food and drinks is no big deal for people renting the cabanas. The fun is in getting served with food and adult beverages, getting some first class treatment while everyone else is in line for the food stand.

It would be nice though if they had some 2-3 person (or just 2 person) cabanas in addition to the 4-8 person cabanas so that couples or people with only one child could have a cheaper option.
Two person cabanas?

:) Wasn't implying any family making! :)

Just for those of us with no kids (and no immediate plans for kids) probably don't need/want to pay for the extra space in a 4-8 person cabana, but would like the shade/privacy/place to put stuff, that the cabana would allow. I really like the idea of having my own lounge chairs and a place to eat away from some of the crowds. :)

..And just as soon as the Buzzazrds return to Hinckley, OH...DBCahill returns to GTTP...Must be Spring:)
