Soak City

Everyone always talks about CP putting in a new coaster, but does Soak City ever add anything? If they have, when was the last time and how often do they do it?

1988: Soak City opens

1990: Expansion - Tadpole Town and Main Stream

1995: Expansion - Zoom Flume, Renegade River, and Choo Choo Lagoon

1997: Expansion - Breakers Bay, action slide area, activity pool, Bubbles

The 1997 expansion brought Soak City's size to 18 acres.

The 1st time I visited SC was in 1993. All they had then was all the slides facing you as you enter. When I went there with a friend from out of town (who was blown away by CP and SC)in 1996, they added the kid area, family raft ride, rampage river. Not sure when the activity pool was added. The next time, not sure of the year, the wave pool was added, bubbles adult bar area, erie falls slides. So that comes out to 2 expansions within 7-8 years. SC is the best waterpark I have ever been to (including DisneyWorld). The only thing I liked better at DW was Typhoon Lagoon's wave pool. I have never seen anything like it anywhere else. The waves were unbelievable.
The waterpark and "beachside" wave pool at the Mandalay Bay Casino and Resort in Las Vegas is outstanding. If you like the wave pool at CP, you'd LOVE the one at Mandalay Bay

The only thing Soak City is missing, in my opinion, is the Uphill Water Coaster. The Coaster Captiol should have a water coaster.
I still think Soak City should get "the worlds tallest, fastests, and longest water slide". Fits that whole point theme, ya know?

I'd like to see a regular swimming area that is deeper than just a few feet and not part of a wave pool.

What I would love to see is a diving board, but unfortunately, insurance rates on them has made most of them go the way of the dodo.

I would like to see a water slide that finishes with a 20 foot drop into the pool.

I wish they would alternate the wave pool. One wave session w/tubes, next wave session no tubes, etc. etc. When I'm on a tube, I smash into people (accidentally, of course), and when I don't have one, I'm getting clobbered by those that do.

So what's better; skydiving or riding in Raptor's front seat?

Sliterbong? I think we smelled someone taking hits from one of those while riding Iron Dragon the other day! :)
