Snake River Falls repainted new color.

Hey Guys,
You probably already saw this but the supports for SRF have been
repainted. It looks like they were painted a nice dark brown here,
http://www.cedarpoint.com/public/park/rides/water/shoot_the_rapids/images/str10_construction_043010.cfm.
No doubt it was to spruce up the area for STR. But also the ugly
rust stains are gone well for now at least and shows that SRF is
probably not going anywhere for a while.

Adios!

I like the new colors on SRF.

Does anyone think they should move the entrance to Snake River Falls to the frontier trail side of the ride. Because walking all the way around just to ride SRF when the other two entrances on are the trail seems un-efficient.

GATEKEEPER-I came, I rode, I was mildly disappointed; until a second ride (rear left) put GateKeeper back on the...it's a nice ride list.

1 - you'd have to put in 2 more railroad crossings.

2 - you'd have to do some serious reworking of the queue.

3 - there's no real benefit to moving the entrance.

^ and putting in new railroad crossings is no fun...

John's number 2 and 3 points make the most sense, but you could actually make a new entrance on the Trail side without crossing the train tracks so there would be no need for new crossings.

...and then the splash bridge exit would be nowhere near where the entrance is?

I'd also like to mention how I'm still laughing about certain folks "claims" that SNF was getting razed this offseason. Yet, here it is with a new paint job.

Ideally, wouldn't you want to keep ride entrances spaced as far apart as possible? That way, you disperse crowds as effectively as your geography allows, right?

I think moving SRF's entrance would make a ton of sense if you route it from Frontier Trail, under the turn around structure without crossing the tracks, to the station. Would they do it? Probably not, the current setup has worked for the last 17 seasons.

I was going to say that SRF was the only ride where the exit is nowhere near the entrance, but then I thought of Mine Ride, and Maverick. All the other rides don't take much travel time to re-enter for a re-ride.

Top Thrill Dragster & Magnum are examples of such rides as well, in my opinion.

I've never liked the distance between the entrance and exit on SNF. I don't ride it much, my son does. Like most kids he rides it over and over. The distance makes it hard to to keep an eye on him as you need to go around the buildings in Frontier Town. I used to go with him back to the entrance when he was smaller and then return to the bridge. He's old enough now that I can let he go back by himself.

Anyway, have stood there looking at the situation many times I came up with a scheme. They need to build a small bridge that tees into the existing bridge after it turns to go over the splash. The new bridge would be elevated over the channel were the boats return to the station. There would be a ramp or stairs at that point taking you to the ground behind the Town Hall building. There is plenty of room and not much traffic there. The entrance would only a few feet away. Those that want to go onto the splash bridge may do so and use either the new or existing exits.

I see this as relatively inexpensive fix.

With the all the video games/entertainment today, kids need the extra exercise! ;)
