Today while I was waiting in the queue for Maverick, I saw a snake in the pond under the stairs. It was about 2 feet long. I think it may have been a water snake, which I heard are not poisonous. Has anyone seen a snake in there before? I see tons of fish in there.
Water snakes are pretty common around here. None of them are venomous, as Water Moccasins don't come this far north. Probably a northern water snake or the Lake Erie subspecies.

Go to the marina and you will see many snakes sunbathing on the rocks and swimming in the water.
I'd rather be in my boat with a drink on the rocks,
than in the drink with a boat on the rocks.
There has been a water snake in the lazy river at Soak City before. A lifeguard removed it.

I am still waiting to find a three-eyed fish in the Brackish Maverick Lagoon (that's my official name for it.) Same for the Mantis' queue. I am *so* going to capture one (three-eyed fish) and take it to the new Simpsons' Town in Universal Studios. Think I could get free admission?
seen many snakes at CP. Seen one being chased by the fowl at the pet farm. The snakes come out at dark, mostly. Seen a 3-4 ft one crossing the pavement at Mantis exit a few years ago. They're mostly the Erie Islands watersnake variety. I believe they were recently removed from the protected species list.

In 2004, we had a snake climb up to the unload station on Millennium Force. Ended up in one of the trains and we had to temporarily close the ride until Environmental Services showed up. Was quite the sight.

Keefers, if that's true, contact ODNR immediately. The last confirmed sighting of a Massasauga Rattler near Lake Erie was in the 1960's when the shoreline appeared a little different than today. They have long been considered to be extinct in NW ohio, (even per the Toledo Zoo) although there are known colonies of them in SW Michigan. Is there a chance you might have mistaken it for a different breed?

Ive seen snakes, frogs, chipmunks, praying mantis', turtles, and even a stray cat in the queues at Cedar Point.
thank you for the added info as far as the rarity of them in c.p. I am very sure that it was a massasauga so I will contact odnr first thing in the morning.
