seen many snakes at CP. Seen one being chased by the fowl at the pet farm. The snakes come out at dark, mostly. Seen a 3-4 ft one crossing the pavement at Mantis exit a few years ago. They're mostly the Erie Islands watersnake variety. I believe they were recently removed from the protected species list.

hello all just to throw my input in I personally know from hands on knowledge that near cork screw loop area there are eastern massasauga snakes. my wife and encountered one last season. was a hatchling and quite docile but can bite leaving you feeling ill for a few hours. did our research and found to be endangered so are also protected. hope that helps some

Keefers, if that's true, contact ODNR immediately. The last confirmed sighting of a Massasauga Rattler near Lake Erie was in the 1960's when the shoreline appeared a little different than today. They have long been considered to be extinct in NW ohio, (even per the Toledo Zoo) although there are known colonies of them in SW Michigan. Is there a chance you might have mistaken it for a different breed?

In 2004, we had a snake climb up to the unload station on Millennium Force. Ended up in one of the trains and we had to temporarily close the ride until Environmental Services showed up. Was quite the sight.
Hi, this is Millennium Force. We're down due to a mother ******* snake in our mother ******* train.
Sorry, had to be said. :)
