Small Trains?

I was at the park yesterday and I did a couple laps around the Soak City lot and noticed a few things. I think the trains are going to be smaller than the Xcelerator trains, probably they will be more close to the size of the Hypersonic trains. I think this thing is going to have 5 trains. The number of fly wheels that were onsite and all packaged up is huge. There had to be atleast 20 sets of wheels and each set had 2 wheels. The transfter area will probably be similar to Hypersonics.

Not that I'm disagreeing with you, but why would they make the trains shorter? The trains on Xcelerator are already fairly short, and if they could pull off four or five trains of that length, think of the capacity, it would be incredible. What if it had a blocking system that was configured as :Loading: :Launch Section: :Track: :Brake: :Transfer: :Unload: :Transfer: :Transfer: :Loading:. What I'm getting at here is that it might be adventagous if there is enough space between the Unload and Load stations to house one or two trains, which are always on stand by, to be sent into the Load station.

Shorter trains would mean less weight to start out with and it could make it easier on the launch system, but I don't see that many trains. It doesn't make sense to me, but maybe in the future...

Shorter trains would also mean less inertia due to reduced weight. That's not such a good situation with wind blowing off the lake...

I heard that this coaster is going to have 6 trains. I wouldn't rule out a racing/dueling caoster just yet. Though it doesn't seem practical at this point. Who knows, there have been much more impractical things built.

:Edit: setecx got good pictures, and has pictures in the parking lot. Here is the link to the new set.

Who told you it will have 6 trains?
I thought more than 3 trains was a little out of the question. I have a feeling this ride will be similar to MF loading and unloading wise.

I was thinking at least 4, especially if they launched from somewhere other than the load station. That would give them another block. Along with a smaller train being easier to launch, it would also cut load times down a little.

If they use the same system as they "tested" on Xcelerator, the station is the lauch "pad". There wont be a seperate launch area.

Oh, so that can't change. Xcelerator was only 200 feet tall, so I guess it can't be any taller than that. Superman:ROS only had one station, so Millennium Force couldn't have two. Superman:UE has a straight back spike, so Wicked Twister couldn't be double twisting. Batman: The Ride only ran two trains, so Raptor couldn't run three.

"Logic" is a term no longer used around here. Do you realize at all how ridiculous your statement is?

One of my joys is reading a post Jeff has made once a thread has been rambling for a while. It makes me feel better knowing that I am not the only one left in the world with common sense. No sarcasm here, I am serious.
I didnt say it couldnt change. Im just saying that IF they used the same system as they did on Xcel that it will probably launch out of the station. There was no need to jump all over me like that. If I jumped all over everyone who said something stupid or too logic on this board i would be in a lot of trouble. I was using my statement for more of a comparison, because there are a lot of people out there who have no cluse what Xcel is like. I mean, what i said was pretty basic. if they use the system they used on Xcel, it will launch from the station. I didnt say that they couldnt or wont change it. I am just using an assumpiton that if they use the same they will keep it the same. Thas all.
Jeff... i think the biggest point to think about is... the less "stations" they use... the less they will have problems with... i mean, if they have a loading, unloading, AND launch... all of them need a way to get people off the trains... if youre worried about being launched before youre strapped in... dont you think they have failsafe's to stop stuff like that from happening? I mean... who's gonna be there on the launch pad when a restraint pops loose.. if you get launched from the staion you will have more people to keep the ride from going anywhere....

...now as for the loading and unloading alone... thats very feasable... CP has a lot more room to work with than Knott's, so i could very much see a double (load/unload) station setup... but for simple reasons i cannot see a triple setup... we have to remember this is mechanically launched, unlike Volcano or any of the impulses, so theres more "things" that could break...

thats all i have to say for now... jeff.. not everyone in your forums is uneducated as to what the ride is going to be

What the hell does education have to do with it? I'd just like to see people use their F'in brains for one brief moment. Say it with me... common sense. Whew! Let's do it again! Common sense.

How do you spell relief? C-O-M-M-O-N-S-E-N-S-E.

Speculation is fine, that's fun and all, but for the love of God use you're brains. People keep making these ridiculous assertions about things for no logical reason other than "because." I can't freakin' take it any more.

Jeff, the word BAN is looking really good right now.

Mysjivus1: Please, for the love of God, use paragraphs. I love to read differing points of view but my old eyes need a break once in a while.

Why don't you guys just join The Point Online boards it is a much nicer place there no mods sware at you or call you stupid, no one is mean. I have been at The Point for a long time and I like it better than Guide To the Point an that is strictly because of the mean people here exspecialy Jeff. You tell other people to get a brain you should think about getting one for yourself. I don't care ban me it is not going to hurt because I will be at The Point, were it is nice. Also stop thinking your God because you aren't and will never be no matter what

I fear for our future amidst so much illiteracy.

Im pretty dang stupid...but im not exceptionally stupid. I can be quite intelligent at times, but just thinking that the trains cant be small or cant change is quite absurd. I just wish people would sometime use their brains...assuming they have them (like people that line jump for example:-))

Welcome to the Magnum XL-200, the coaster featured most on the Discovery Channel.

Yes, the number of well-thought out posts here have declined exponentially in the past few weeks...this is something that I fear.
