There has been chatter about it here in CP Place before, but as I recall there wasn't much more information about it than that.

The frontier lift was one of my favorite rides. Unlike the midway lift, you floated over trees. And at night you were in virtual darkness. I refered to it as the "tunnel of love in the sky"

Geauga Lake fans may remember when GL had the identical type of chairlift where the Americana wheel now stands.
The Sky Ride gondolas originally were round two seat cars. These were replaced with the type of 4 seat cars now on the lift sometime in the late 60's. The Frontier Lift had identical 4 seat cars since day one. When the Frontier Lift was removed, the cars from it replaced the cars that were running on the Sky Ride.
I doubt very much that the original two seat Sky Ride cars are still around, they were probably scrapped or sold. As far as I can tell, there are no 2 seat or 4 seat cars from any Cedar Point lift in the boneyard.
I'd rather be in my boat with a drink on the rocks,
than in the drink with a boat on the rocks.
Why would they keep them around still of they had no intention of using them.
Because it's cheaper to do nothing than to dump them?
I'd love to see a Boarwalk/Pier that ran out into either the lake or the bay (ala the Boardwalks of Florida or the Carolinas).
Daytona Beach comes to mind with their Boardwalk that has a skyride that goes out to the end of the pier and back.
On the Boardwalk they could have a restaurant or a couple of nightclubs (or both) that would be used by the resort guests. Maybe the parasail company could set up shop there too.
Wishful thinking but that would be a great addition to the park that would not require any of the current available space and would certainly add to the resort.

Trains 4 & 5 are stored in that building the train passes through just after being deployed from the station. They are to your left and right.
I love lamp.
Anyways, back on subject to the boneyard. What other junk is back there?
