For anyone who has already been to the park and ridden Skyhawk:
Does the ride time of Skyhawk (when it starts moving to when it stops) seem short when you're on it? I watched the video of the ride cycle here on Point Buzz and I think it was only about a minute long. Does the ride seem short when you actually ride it, or is it just me? ;-)
It would be nice if it were to swing at its full power for a few more swings, but the ride itself is just fine. It's fun building up to a higher swing each time.

I was extremely dissappointed, the ride only reaches its maximum swing for 1/2 revolution and then stops.

I liked the ride, but I do agree that it was very short. And no it doesn't seem like it is a 2 minute ride.

57 seconds, according to my stop watch. :(
And it still doesn't seem like it hits it's 800 pph interval with the very short ride time... although it is still early in the season...

Cedar Point Guy took the words right out of my mouth. :)
My hopes are that they were just trying to churn people out as best as possible during this early season trainie break in period. Maybe once they get into the "Swing" of things they will lengthen the ride cycle. Or maybe I just have pipedreams.

I'd be happy with two more swings at full power. The time it takes for them to check the restraints is longer than the ride itself. I think I was checked at least 3x by 3 different people when I rode Saturday. A great addition, but needs to be a longer cycle. maXair on the other hand...

If you look at the animation on the header border at Cedarpoint.com, it goes back and forth quite long and reaches its maximum swing about 1 and 1/2 revolutions. Quite deceiving.

Swing Shot at Kennywood has almost five full swings per cycle, Skyhawk has what--3? (I haven't seen the ride in person yet, this is judging by Jeff's videos.) The one difference between the rides that I'm aware of is that Kennywood specifically requested higher capacity air tanks than came standard with the model.
It's disappointing to hear the negative remarks as to the ride time, but I agree that maybe it will increase once the season gets going. They probably wanted to get people on and off as fast as they could opening weekend.
Thrills Around the Corner!
Both of my brothers have sworn off Skyhawk until they lengthen the ride cycle. You only get 2 swings at the full height, which (according to them) is when it starts to get interesting.
I'm hoping for a ride later this week, then I'll see what I think.
