I know I seem to be continuing creating something, but now this is something that is a little more, productive. Here's the beginning of it. I had just done this in one night too.

I figured out a way to make it swing so I don't need anymore suggestions on how to. More pictures will come as I build and finish.

I already created a small skyhawk last year with k'nex. It was about 20" tall, I used the gray pulley wheels at the top, string wrapped around the pulley one full revolution, connected to rubber bands at the base. It was amazing how good the friction of those strings were to pivot the arms.
I may have a photo of it, but no way do I know how to post it here.
To make the top support, I made 3 exact pieces to look like the original support, then connected them together with the small white stick, very strong.
The side towers were just gray sticks, but it worked by manually pulling one string toward the ground, and the rubber band pulled it back the other way.
I thought is was cool, neighbor kids though I was nuts.
GATEKEEPER-I came, I rode, I was mildly disappointed; until a second ride (rear left) put GateKeeper back on the...it's a nice ride list.
There is a nice knex model site here: http://www.sscoasters.net/ . I am sure that they could help you out.

Don't you think it's a good idea to make some triangles so it doesn't completely fall apart?

I agree on the triangles. When your building up like that it really is the best way to go. Especially if the material you're using isn't all the strong. When we built spaghetti noodle towers thats how we did it. Granted spaghetti noodles are a bit weaker, you get the idea. [and that noodle tower stood a few feet tall and held a softball no problem.]
"Ive got the need, the need for speed!"
I posted some more pictures of it and I had drastically increased the strength. I haven't taken picture of the new design yet, but they will be posted within the next few days. I'll also try that triangle design and the sscoaster.net site's too.

I don't know why, but your site will never load images for me, ltparkmaster. It shows a black background, a dark gray box, and text, but nothing else at all, no broken image links, no text aside from links, just a blank page.
Looking forward to Cedar Point- July 4th-5th, 2007!
I switched layouts so that should help. If it doesn't, it maybe either your internet connection or your browser cookies need to be enabled.
