Sky Rides question

This morning at about 9:45, I saw something which I have seen before. There were 3 buckets going from the north station. There were also 3 buckets coming from the south station. Only these 6 buckets were on the cables. What do they do when this occurs? I thought maybe they are sending workers from on station to the other or something.

Why do posters continue to say Sky Rides when CP only has one Sky Ride? Yes, it has many cabins but they ae part of the same (one) ride. The Giant Wheel has 36 cabins but we don't call it the Giant Wheels. I.ve never heard someone say, "lets ride the giant wheels!" CP took out the other sky ride, called the Frontier Lift, many years ago.
