Sky Ride Downtime

Anyone know what's up with Sky Ride? Seems to be having extended downtime, haven't seen it run for days.

I'd rather be in my boat with a drink on the rocks,
than in the drink with a boat on the rocks.

I love Sky Ride. Have winds been high? I hope it's running for my trip on August 1st...

Maybe a recent storm or heat did something? I did hear TTD was down for a couple days.

They appeared to be working on it yesterday. The front station had a ladder in the trough where the gondolas fly out, and some sort of... clamp-like thing on the cable. I wish I could give a better description!

Hmm, sounds like they possibly had to clamp the cable to remove or work on the bullwheel, bullwheel bearing or transmission. I've seen that on a ski lift and it caused some major downtime right in the middle of the ski season.

I was up there yesterday. The anemometer on the middle tower was *stopped*. I don't think the downtime was due to high winds. :)

I didn't investigate further, I just cursed the fact that I had to *walk* down the main midway.

I think they also had to replace some bearings, too.

2011 - Trash Crew

I noticed that it didn't seem all that windy and it was closed. Windseeker was still running, so I figured it couldn't have been the wind. I also seen that they had some of the early entry fencing blocking the entrance of the sky ride. RideMan were you on Magnum right when the park closed? I think I was talking to you about King's Island and Son of Beast.
