Six Flags Kentucky

Wow I just read on a website that a girls legs were cutoff riding Superman Tower of Power yesterday. It looks like cables were snapped during the ascent and it sent the ride crashing down to the ground. Scary!

Feet, not legs.

Sorry your right feet. But one of the witnesses said legs so they probably meant feet.

There is plenty of discussion about this over at www.coasterbuzz.com

Although this is tragic, it's not CP related.

Ripcord Crew 2002 / MF Crew 2004

I just saw on the Toledo CBS 11 website the Kings Island has down Drop Zone indefinietly. All I can say is good call on CF's part. Since the rides are pretty much the same, who knows, it could happen again. Here is the link if anyone is intrested.. www.wtol.com/Global/story.asp?S=6696215

That is freaky.

Tim - I saw your comments on CB. I was amazed that MSNBC managed to find the most ineffective witness to interview.

^ - the odds of this happening again are so remote, there really is no danger to anyone else riding these rides. The ride will be inspected for cable wear and be back up within a week.

I'm always amazed, when an amusement ride has a failure, every ride like it in the country has to go down. But when a plane crashes, we don't ground the entire country. This is very unfortunate, but nothing more than a freak accident.

So, who has the stop-watch running to see when that rep from Mass comes out to start grand-standing about the need for Federal Oversight of amusement rides?
