See, non-employment can be very productive. Since my sites are my job at the moment, I finally got the PM overhaul finished. The two biggest improvements are that the system actually works, and you can send PM's to more than one person, and you can all read each other's replies.
The "to:" field of the new PM form does kind of an auto-complete list thing, where you start to type a name and it gives you some options. You can click on one or use the arrow keys and enter to choose. Backspacing will then delete the user from the field.
I'm pretty sure it generally works, but do let me know here if it doesn't.
Also, the topic lists now have the "started by" again for each topic.

For me at least, there is no place to type next to the "To." I'm using Firefox 3.0. I tried it in Safari and it worked great, though. I really like that feature.

I saw that too when I first went to the new message screen. I just refreshed the page, and it's working fine now. I'm also using Firefox 3.
Hitting refresh fixed the issue. It still happens when I go to it at first, but when I hit refresh, it's fine.

If it didn't work the first time, Firefox was caching the old version of the style sheet.
The reply mechanism was choking because of something I forgot to paste in, but it's good to go now.

Not that this is a big deal, but I was wondering if I'm the only one who would rather the "started by" be denoted to the left of the "last post" notation. I know it seems silly, but I believe that was the layout previously, and that's the layout at CB as well. I think the "last post" being to the right of "started by" makes more logical sense.
So, if its an easy change, and there are others who agree, would it be possible to change it?
I have the same problem. I keep looking at the end of the line for "Last Post" and am mistakenly reading "Started By".

I've been thinking that too. I can probably change that pretty painlessly.

I noticed that too, but didn't want to really whine about it. It took sometime to get used to. But I am pretty used to it now.
I think it is a good idea that you brought back who started the thread though. Thanks Jeff. :)
