I don’t think this topic has been discussed to great length, but I think CP should install a separate line to make loading more efficient. I would be more than happy to ride with a stranger to cut down my wait. I wonder why they haven’t set this up on their major rides/coasters?
Do other parks have single rider lines (Its been years since I have been to a park other then CP)? If, so how do they work. It sounds like it may be a decent idea.
It wouldn't be an original idea, Disney has been doing it for a while and ski resorts have had those lines for years.
Not sure about other parks.
Apollo's Chariot at BGW had a single rider line which was great! I hate to see empty seats on coasters when there are also long lines. I have often cut my wait by 20 minutes by telling the ride op's that I'm a single and I'd take any seat that is free.
Thats funny Cedar Point Novice, when I was there last year the first weekend they were open, they didnt have one. Either they did it after I went, or its something new.

I think it would be a fabulous idea for the B&M rides because four-across seating seems to breed empty seats. I went alone once last summer for the morning to bang out some rides and have lunch with one of the marketing people, and I walked right up to the front seat of Raptor and Mantis.

Seeing as how most people go to amusement parks with friends, girl friends, wives, and reletives. I don't think many people fill these single lines. I kind of like long lines. I think it is nice to strike up line conversations with people.

Remember line jumping is NOT a sporting event.
Are you kidding? Every empty seat would be filled? It's true because it never fails that the ride hosts are looking for single riders to improve their capacity numbers ever so slightly.

Single rider lines is a great idea. There wouldn't be many people in it, but it would fill the seats that would be empty anyway.
Riding single is the best only way to go if you really want to pack in a lot of rides (B&Ms especially). Go alone and make sure the ride ops know who you are and you're single. They'll be looking for you to fill in the rows.
When I went to BGW last winter before it closed down, they had the single rider line, but for some reason they weren't running it. Granted, the lines weren't that long, but still I wanted it opened b/c sometimes I'd have to go on by myself b/c my friends all had motion sickness and couldn't do multiple runs of Apollo's Chariot. I think that it would help capacity on Raptor and Mantis more than any other rides.

I may work here, but I still think "Altitude with Attitude" beats anything that "Rules the sky".
I totally agree. I think it would be a great idea.

"Your obssesed w/ that place aren't you?" (as stated by my best-friends about CP)
I ended up flying Raptor alone on many a 'casions
last year and got to fly in the front seat many times due to being a lone rider-ops would start watching for me to return cause they knew I was just one....
(of course this wasnt on the days my fav co-flyer Dave was there) because of course we rode together!
:-)

Welcome back Raptor riders-how was your flight??
To agree with Jeff, this would also help the parents who have to take turns because the other parents is waiting with a child who cant ride. I think this would be a great idea!

I think single rider lines would be great.
It's great going to the park with a companion but it's also fun to go by yourself.
When I'm by myself on Raptor or Mantis, I usually jump in line for the second seat. As Jeff said, that four-across lends a seat being open here and there, and then you get to ride front for no extra waiting.

Single rider lines are great. Sure, it's fun to go with friends, S/O's, etc., but I also like to go by myself to get a lot of rides in. That's great also, you can ride what you want, when you want to, as many times as you want, without having to plan around other people's wants. The B&Ms, with the four across seating, are just the ticket for a single rider line. It works like a charm at ski resorts, no reason it wouldn't work just as well at CP.
