Well today I was driving southbound on I-75 from Toledo. I happened to see a semi headed northbound, and it had something on the back. As it got close there were three track pieces on the back of the truck. Now I know that footers have shown up around WWL site and I thought to myself if those could be possible track pieces for the new ride? It would make sense, the truck was going north. The pieces were red with yellow track (circular things). They were curve pieces. Now obviously i'm not much of a genious when it comes to the names of parts, but these were definately for a coaster.
Hmmmmm... A B&M yellow track and red supports, a curve piece, a file for the name "Maverick",the WWL station still standing, mysterious footers showing up, and the CP & LE Railroad tracks being moved over 18 feet. Nope, I don't sense anything unusual.

Arguing with a coaster enthusiast is like wrestling with a pig in mud. After a while, you realize the pig enjoys it.
I dont believe that it was the track for the new ride. You'd think CP would go for a color scheme that would fit FT's theme a but better that red and yellow. Something like this would be nice:http://www.rcdb.com/ig720.htm?picture=1
As for track comming this early, we really can't tell. CP could want to get a very early start on it which would mean that this is a truely huge ride.
Just remember that anything's possible with Cedar Point.....expect the unexpected.:)

Whether its too early for track pieces or not, is still to be determined.
I agree with CedarpointManiac about the color scheme. But Cedar Point is starting to run out of colors to work with. What other park has this problem? None that I can think of.
CP's slogan next summer should be "Cedar Point: The roller coaster capital of the world. We're running out of colors."
"Before you know it, that Maverick's got the drop on ya."

There you go, tell us what you saw. :)
I tend to be skeptical but maybe Cedar Point is doing things a bit differently this time around. Heck, they already have footers in place. TTD didn't even have those untill mid April of 2002.
Did it look something like this?

MF parts started to come in the early spring of '99 and were stored on the warehouse on 1st Street if memory serves me right. *** Edited 3/12/2006 2:17:20 AM UTC by Frank Sinatra***
I feel sorry for people who don't drink. When they wake up in the morning, that's as good as they're going to feel all day.
