Should they get rid of the cottonwoods?
I was at CP last tuesday through friday and it was baaaaad. Cobwebs all over, expecially in the q's. It would be hard to get rid of ALL. I live Michigan and there isn't an end to the problem. And I am allergic too!

I really don't think its bad but then again, I'm use to the golf course and things blowing around and I'm also not allergic. (thank god!) ;)
I personally dislike the "mess" that cotton wood tress leave behind. When I walked under the misters on Magnum Friday there was a lot of cotton that littered the ground. Ask Hooper, he almost took a nasty spill when he stepped on that stuff. :) These tress cause many problems in a lot of places. They especially love to clog air conditioning units.

That's a lot of trees to be cutting down. It would be expensive and would greatly affect the Cedar Point landscape.
I say put up with it for a few weeks. Like the yearly insect invastion, it'll go away soon enough.

I noticed these on Friday also. My friends that were with me suggested cutting down every tree in the park! HeHe They are kind of annoying.
You will notice that a great deal of trees are cotton woods at CP. This is because they grow very tall in a short amount of time.

Cottonwood pollen is actually too large to irritate your allergies.

MY friend was having a hayday (get it) with his allergies. Everytime he got in the queues for a ride he would need tissues-especially MF's queue.
I liked the cotton it was like it snowed right on the paths it was cool.

I actually noticed that too, Jeff. I sneeze as basically everything around me, but the cottonwoods didn't affect me at all. Kinda gave me an idea what CP looks like in the winter!
