I read everyone's feeble attempts to justify the parks poor policy of not issuing rain checks and realized the lame excuses are actually better reasons to eliminate the Platinum Pass (and start a new thread). Everyone seems so concerned that people will somehow abuse a rain check and (insert shock and horror sound effect) return to the park. Seems to me that is why the park has Platinum Pass in the first place. Why would the park offer such a value to pass holders? Some might say a percentage of Platinum Pass holders abuse the system now. How many days a year does the average pass holder go to the park? If it is more than 3 times than the park is losing money on pass holders. Are there pass holders who use pass 10 times, 50 times, over 100 times a year at different locations? Why offer such a value? Think how much money the park is losing if they would just charge a separate admission for each visit.
I somehow do not think the park offers such value for the Platinum Pass out of the goodness of their heart. I would have to think there is some business rational for offering the pass (spoiler alert: it is the sane exact business rational I give for issuing rain checks). I for one, hope they keep the Platinum Pass (and it's value) around for a long time. Lets just hope the park agrees with me more than a lot of the other people on this forum.
PointGuru's next topic will be "Should the park pay us for attending?" After all, they will make back what they pay us, plus a profit, when we buy the over priced food and drinks or play the games. It's just good customer service when guests don't have to fork over their own money to buy an admission ticket and when they get a little extra something in their wallet to enjoy their day.

Wow, I didn't see where I said anything like that. But, now that you mention it that is a hugely successful marketing strategy that some of the smaller casinos around the country use. Take this bus charter from your home town to the casino for $25 and the casino will give you $50 in free credits. People want guest to gamble so much on the weather and ride reliability when they go to the park, maybe the park could try something like that (since we are making up things the other person never said).
I would like to propose to the moderators that this clown not be allowed to create any more threads. Let him reply to existing threads, we can ignore that easy enough.
I'm at the park right now sitting in my rv, and it's just mind numbing to read this crap.

Pete was making a prediction, not quoting what you have already said. And I believe, based on the body of work you have produced so far, he is probably right.
I fail to see how your supposedly educated mind cannot accept even the most rudimentary principles of business, economics, or heck, even common sense and rational reasoning. Even when people point these things out to you.
Guys, we should really stop feeding this troll.
My family goes in the park between 25-35 times a season. reason being it only takes us a minute to get it in the park from our summer home off the causeway. The Platinum pass has helped us as we have traveled to Kings Island, Canada's Wonderland, Kings Dominion and also Carowinds.
The park kinda does pay me as I am a shareholder as well.

Throw in some free lawn service so the neighbors don't complain since I would be spending too much time away playing and I'll pay. Otherwise, I'm out because I'd have to pay for lawn service separately when it could've been rolled into one cost.
You boneheads need to learn how to roll up the extension cord for the fluggegecheimen when you're done with it!
Wayne, it wouldn't be ethical to include the cost in there without giving you a choice to opt out of paying it.
Come on, man. Haven't you been reading? ;)

It's like a bathroom.
You can have a bunch of people crapping and everything runs smoothly until one jackass decides to crap all over the walls.

Must've gotten bounced from a Six Flags forum already. Enjoy your short stay, Guru.

Can't you talk to that Hilderbranny friend of yours about all these wonderful ideas?
And suggest to him that if they are going to be open in March, I think a bobsled ride would be perfect. If the weather is too bad, they can cover parts of it. Even construct a building around it. Oh wait....
Yes, retire it and rename it the Diamond Pass.
Why didn't they think of this sooner?

If I could find a way to block ThePointGuru and never read another word or idea from him, I would have done so a long time ago. Without this feature on this board, it is best to let these threads go, let them receive no responses, and wither to the back hidden pages of the forum....
