With the removal of the Big Ugly Box (TM), we've seen Wicked Twister up front and exposed with the new beach view we're about to enjoy.
How about a fresh coat of paint, some new uplights, and... while we're on the LED kick, why not go nuts and replace the ever-broken neon on the station with some animated LEDs to go along with the rest of the midway?
Got some extra cash? Throw yellow LED's threaded up the back of the track spine. /wildestfantasy.

2003 - Wicked Twister
2004 - Wicked Twister/Top Thrill Dragster
I'm more worried about making GateKeeper look even better. Any idea what the station is supposed to look like? Statue? A mix of Wild Eagle and Leviathan would be great.
I mean, that extra 5 million has to be going somewhere.
The entrance.
Also, Gravity, I asked that in another thread. I would like to see Wicked Twister and maXair to get some fresh paint too.
Enjoy the rest of your day at America's Rockin' Roller Coast! Ride On!
Wicked Twister's paint job looks fine to me. It is one of the brightest tracks and supports in the park and has minimal fade opposed to, say, Dragster.
However, I do like the idea on making it more appealing at night. The tower lights are pretty dull anymore. I think it would be cool if they had lights on the train so you can actually see it in operation. Maybe either underneath the seats or something. And I agree, the station neon strip of light is a pain. But first, I wish they would fix the queue before anything.
They should make WT's track have rainbow lighting like MF has on the lift hill. It would look really cool.
Favorite coaster: Millennium Force
Favorite flat: maXair
Wicked Twister is my favorite colored ride at the park. I would go up there and paint it a fresh coat every off-season if I could.
^I love its paint colors too. I think it's one of the most visually appealing coasters. Even more so if those colors were used on a full circuit coaster instead.

That'd be really pretty, anything like that would be fantastic.

Seriously CP needs to do that for the station ^^
Maybe put some crazy cool light effects into the midway pavement.
One can dream...

If anybody's seen Hollywood Rip Ride Rockit, I'd like to see something like that for WT. WT is probably in the best placement to get something like that, though I dunno how it'd work considering that inverted cars give you much less space to work with.
The entire Oceana midway is really begging to be updated in a classic carnival style with a Times Square or Vegas amount of lights all over the place. You don't have to make the entire park a sensory overload, but at least part of it should be.
I wonder what they will be doing for GK's station, maybe a "medieval" look, with that griffon statue and maybe tudor style building patterns? Something that Busch gardens Virginia might have for their coasters. I also wonder where they will put the on ride photo camera for GK.
Glad to see so many on here wanting more than just a new ride. It was very cool leaving Cedar Point a week ago, right after the Luminosity show, walking down the main midway and over by the Giant Wheel and actually being excited. Normally, at the end of the day, the place seemed almost somber. I never needed to stay after dark. My feelings have changed, completely. It is so vibrant and has me looking forward to more improvements to the atmosphere of the park. What I saw this year has made me excited about going back next year. I hope they don't disappoint.
Wicked Twister doesn't really need a painting yet, but the station could definitely use a face-lift. I would love to see some new LED lights around the station, and I do agree with TwistedWicker that the ride needs some snazzy lights on/under the train. It would look amazing at night!

I wonder if the lockers that sit by Wicked Twister now will end up moving to Gatekeeper? You guys know what I mean? I for one have never seen anyone use these lockers. Most of the time people take their belonging with them and place them on the shelf. So I think having those lockers go over by Gatekeeper would work out well.
If Gatekeeper is using one station then it will have bins also. Lockers will not be needed for this ride either.
Let's Get Weird.
Bins. Man, do I hate bins. Let's take a very high capacity ride and cripple it with bins, and hoards of stupid people to use them.
I don't mean that one is stupid for using the bins. Rather, there are a lot of stupid and lazy people who use bins, and can't follow directions or move like a normal, ambulatory human being.
Wouldn't a ride like GK need to have bins? Its not like you can wear flip flops on it... And perhaps that's the reason for not having a dual platform?

Yes, no kidding!
Long time lurker who used to be JUMBO JET.
Wicked Twister's lockers are not there anymore. But I can assure you, more people used them than you think. Whether they actually paid for the locker or just stuck their belonings in it since they knew they wouldn't be standing in a long line is a different story :)
As for bins, I have a feeling that they are going to construct GateKeeper's station in some way, or have some kind of system, allowing fast boarding time even with loose articles. Did Raptor and Mantis always have bins too? I feel like their stations weren't built to accommodate loose article bins and fast boarding at the same time.
