Should CP take a day off every week?

Over at everybody else's favorite park, SFMM, they have decided to close X every Wednesday for weekly scheduled ride maintenance.

What if CP did the same with TTD? With maintenance workers working as much as they can with the ride open as much as possible, I personally think they would most likely benefit from a day without the ride operating.

Edit: Yeah, wrong abbreviation in the subject title, can't change that, sorry.

Well, the ride should be designed for daily operation - I understand what you are suggesting, but given the problem seems to be centered around the hydrolics, the idea doesnt hold any water IMO (good idea though), because even on the days TTD operates, it still seems to have issues. X and TTD are facing very differnt operational issues (again, IMO).

This isn't a Six Flags park. We won't be seeing this happen to TTD. Besides, with the kind of problems they're having now, scheduled weekly downtime would be pointless. I don't know the exact reason why X goes down every Wednesday, but I'll bet it's more an issue of replacing parts that only last about a week or something like that. TTD's problems aren't like that.

Keep in mind that SFMM is a year round park. They don't have the advvantage of off season for major revamping/maintenance, although they are known to close rides for a period of time for such purposes. Not to mention with rides running every single day, 360 odd days of the year, it would make sense (to me anyway) to give certain rides a "break".

that ride looks crazy. it makes me second guess riding it when thats the only ride they close weekly.
A ride has to be open before you can close it...

No, I don't think that they should close it down every week for maintenence, X is the first of it's kind and so is Top Thrill Dragster. But they shouldn't designate a day to close it, especially if they have it running. They do have maintenance men in those blue dress shirts that walk to different rides regularly, probably on a daily basis, and they shouldn't have to close down Dragster unless they have to. It should be available any day it can, maintenance can come at night.
