With all the talk of the Vertigo maybe going the way of the Dodo, I was wondering what is/was the shortest lived ride at Cedar Point?

Fear the Mullet!
Depends on what you classify side of the park. Remember WT is actually on the lake side of the park and its taller.

Never tall enough to ride Jumbo Jet...
Red Garter, are you refering to the fact that during construction, the "fallen" tower which is no more, was the last to be built and in some construction pictures the ride looks exactly like the ride does/did after the tower fell. I can't find a construction picture of that right now.
Dan, well I hope you don't want to consider WT as being on that side of the park, because if you do, then you would have to accept that Magnum was never the tallest ride on that side of the park because of Space Spiral. ;)

Gemini, looking at that map I'm really concerned that CP had a serious space issue in 1964... Looks like there's no room for anything new.

Actually, they did not co-exist- Monrail-'59-'63; Blue Streak-'64-???. I found it odd that the Blue Streak is is just labeled as "rollercoaster." Maybe that map was printed before the plans for Blue Streak were finalized and CP executives may have thought that the Monorail could stick around for a bit longer if BS plans were not confirmed. That is just a thought, I'm not entirely sure, though.
Dinosaur-
The reason why you did not see the Space Spiral is because it was not installed until '65.
