Shopping Near Cedar?

Hi Guys,
I was wondering if anyone could tell me what the Shopping, clothes etc.. facilites are like near Cedar Point? Is it at all like Orlando (I-Drive and Belz) or is it different?
Cheers,
Chris Cox
Nuttin' of the sort. Other than CP, Sandusky is your typical small-medium town. There's a small mall, a couple of strip centers and shopping centers. Not a shopping town.

Coming soon to a park near Sandusky!
Well, Sandusky lacks in quality stores, but the Sandusky Mall on Rt. 250 has a pretty nice collection of stores and it is a good in and out mall. Also, there is the Lake Erie Outlet Center, now under new ownership, which does have a few outlet stores. Also, there is the Park Place Plaza on Rt. 250 that has a WalMart, Lowes, Staples, Toys R Us, and many smaller stores. Don't forget about Meijer's on Rt. 250 which is a huge supermarket, clothing, hardware, sports, music store.

Thanks for your help so far!

How far is the Laker Erie Outlet Centre, driving wise 20mins? And does it have a website?
Our family usually gets to Meijer's at least once a trip, to "stock up" on stuff to take back to the motel. Even though we don't have to wait a full year to shop there anymore (two outlets have been opened in nearby Northwest Indiana), it's still the first place we consider if we need just about anything from food to gasoline.

As for the Lake Erie Outlet Center, all you have to do to find it is get off the Ohio Turnpike at Rt. 250, get out of your car, and yell. You'll know where the LEOC is by listening to the echoes bouncing off the empty stores. (It's a pity, since the place seemed to have some potential a few years back---but it's best to shop along the 250 commercial strip.)

I agree about that strip mall. We went there a few years back and came away with some deals and high hopes for that mall....but alas, it resembles a run down ghost town, more than a mall....

The Wal-Mart along 250 is absolutely wonderful for stocking up and finding some nice deals. I do not have a Wal-mart near me *gasp* so, I usually make a point to stop there on my CP trips and take in the little shops alongside of her....
Only in America can a trip to Wal-Mart become an exciting feature of vacation plans.
Funguy, you must live near a Wal*Mart. I have to travel a considerable distance -- and worse, into Chicago's suburbs! -- to get to one for those great prices, mounds of cheap toilet paper, and some of their very nice private label stuff. When I go to Cedar Point, Meijer is almost as much a tourist attraction as the Point!
"and worse, into Chicago's suburbs!"

Ack! Wal-Mart is *never* worth that!

I actually haven't been to a Wal-Mart in about 2 years. I find other places to go.
