Anyone planning on riding it? It might be a little cool out. I wonder how much they can control how wet you get...
I think it will be able to be toned down for cold weather. the pressure of the water being pushed out of the rock canyon part will probably be adjustable and I'll bet the water bombs can be disabled.
After seeing some of the most recent footage, I'm convinced this ride can be the WWL-lightly-wet ride we want in the spring and fall.
Here's my concern though....
Opening day and early in the season...wouldn't you think they'd want to show off all that the ride can do? I'm thinking that even if it's 55-60 degrees, everything is going to be on and working. You wouldn't want to reveal your big new water ride with all its features turned off?
My other concern is the water canons. Even if it's spring or fall, won't people still be able to pay to soak you? It'd likely be the most popular time for people to want to soak you.... Maybe CP will rope off the canons on cold weather days, but how are they going to closely pay attention to these details when they can't keep the theming on any ride for more than a couple years?
At Kings Island they block off the water cannons when its cool out. (the ones guests can shoot off)
Let's Get Weird.
If it's less than 50degrees, my friends and I will definitely not be riding..unless they 'tone down the wetness'..
First time to Cedar Point was opening day 2009, 7 hours in line for TTD, 2 rollbacks =)
I have been wondering the same thing, you can maybe bring a change of clothes and wear a bathing suit to just wing it at the ride and bear the cold, then run back to change into dryness!!!! On second thought, you can just watch other riders and laugh at their blue lips and red fingers........:)
What about the haystack dryers? I would expect to see another one placed near STR's exit. It's opening day let the ride run with all its features operational. I am sure the lawyers will find something that will get turned off or dialed down within its first season!
I might ride it. I have rain gear in my car for rainy days so I guess I could just wear it and go on STR. At least it'll prevent me from getting soaked. :D

^ I might ride it if the temps are just right. If it's too cool, I'll wait later on in May. I'll still walk around the area to see what it looks like though. I have to get my opening weekend pictures. :)
