I haven't read anything on Shoot the Rapids this offseason. What is CP or Intamin going to do to resolve the issues it had last year? I believe they were not seating in the last row, so are new boats coming, are they modifying the current boats, or??????
I suspect we won't have that answer until the season gets underway, unfortunately. I'd love to know what they did, if they did, in fact, do anything.

^ The way the weather has been this spring, I bet you're right. I cannot remember such a crappy April.
At least it looks like you all should start warming up to more 'normal' temperatures the next week or so. Now if only we could get some rain here...
Honestly, the ride looked really bad with all its problems last year. If they did nothing over the offseason to fix some of them then I'll be really dissapointed.
Let's Get Weird.
Yep, I'm shocked we have not heard anything this offseason. Once it opened last year, it seemed like it was closed quite a bit with problems. It was not in opertion when I went last year (meaning after the opening date). I remember looking at the web cam many times and it was not running.
I'm not sure why you would "hear anything" from anybody. The blog has just now really taken off again, with a fantastic look at Ocean Motion. If enough people inquire, however, you might hear something.
Promoter of fog.
If they can get boats to full capacity and a brisker pace for the ground-level portions (similar to the beginning of Pilgrims' Plunge, essentially), I'd consider it a success.
The path you tread is narrow, and the drop is sheer and very high.

Yeah I will say, if the ground level stuff will go through the ride quicker, that'd be awesome...I actually even found myself advancing through the POV just to get to the hills...Speed this sucker up!!! :D
I would think that too, but in my point of view, that wasn't the case. It was a 15 minute wait at 3:00 in the afternoon, (it was a very crowded day)but a walk-on at 1:00. So I guess one could say the line moved pretty fast, but has anyone seen STRs queue filled completely? I have seen TC and SRF, but not STR.
Yes! The first and only time I rode STR, the queue was completely filled past the raining bucket thing they have. Granted it was 90some degrees that day
Im not sure if this change was made during the offseason or late last year but STR now has a black splash guard at the front of the boat. They were also running all the seats opening weekend. I even saw at least one full boat running the circuit!
It should be working properly this year. They got all the bugs out last year right?

It seemed to be working great on opening day. I think this will be a fun ride this year.
I'd rather be in my boat with a drink on the rocks,
than in the drink with a boat on the rocks.
I saw at least six boats running on Sunday, though I'm not sure why, as it was wet enough as it is. All of the kinks seemed to be worked out as well. Also the entrance host position for this ride was, thankfully, not one that was eliminated.
