Shoot ate Rapids...The next Disaster Transport?

I wonder how long CP will let Shoot The Rapids go before they try to "fix" it with the Disaster Transport/Avalanche Run treatment. I think if executed well, Shoot The Rapids could be converted into a nice dark ride themed to Snoopy. It makes perfect sense as the biggest complaint for that ride is the slow water and lack of scenery, both of which would be enhanced if covered. Of course, they would have to order new boats AGAIN to accommodate 36" passsengers to make it a true family ride. What do you think?

Why does it need fixed? What is wrong with it?

It's a dog of a ride just like Avalanche Run was, definately not a proper replacement for WWL IMHO mostly due to the botched height requirement.

Well I don't think the guests agree since I always see a line. As long as people are getting wet while on a ride on a hot day, I don't think you are going to see many people complaining.

While I wouldn't quite call it a dog despite not having been to the Point since its installation (and thus feeling unfair to judge) I do agree that it could use a bit less... concrete, and a bit of a faster current through the water sections than what videos seem to indicate.

You want them to enclose the entire ride? Do you realize how that would look? Way worse than DT does

STR is fine with how it is.

Shoot the Rapids was a pretty big let down. It's a concrete jungle themed water ride.

I've enjoyed my rides on STR, but think it would be vastly improved with the addition of Paddlewheel Excursions animation (says the former PWE Captain). If we want to compare it to White Water Landing then I'd say it's the loser of the two. I have a fondness for the speedier sections of flumes where the logs or boats practically roll instead of float. The bouncing and banging off the chute's sidewalls is what makes flumes fun for me. Not so much the drop. STR doesn't have any of that. :-(

Theyre already letting it go to crap... the theming is gone, and the mist is off in the tunnel. Im actually quite pissed as the mist was aw esome, you couldn't see your hand in front of your face

Don't forget all the weeds growing up around the plants along the waterway.

The theming is gone?

For my first ride during Coasting for Kids the mist tunnel was on in full effect. For my last ride at Coastermania the mist was not functioning. What theming is gone though? Both times I rode this year it looked like they raided a Cracker Barrel.

Let's tear down Millennium Force while we're at it. I find it boring.

Couldn't we enclose MF down first and then tear it down in 15-20 years?

^^Lets put another Magnum in its place. :)

Let's Get Weird.

Isn't once sinking ride enough?

The mist in the tunnel was in effect when I went in early July.

What I worry about is what happens when STR starts sinking. The concrete is going to crack which will let water out and start a sinkhole that will swallow up all of Frontier Town. The damage is going to be massive.

The mist was off on the 22nd and it was 90 degrees, the random moonshine bottles are gone and the music was off
