Calling the PointBuzz Army!
With the removal of Disaster Transport underway, and the construction of a new roller coaster around the corner, you can help keep the PointBuzz community up-to-date on the latest from Cedar Point.
If you have destruction/construction photos (or even video) you'd like to share, please send them to me at walt@schmidty.com by using Dropbox. Dropbox is super easy to use, keeps my inbox free of clutter, and makes it much easier to share lots of files.
Things to keep in mind:
-- We won't be able to use all photos. There will be times when you'll share something that essentially duplicates photos already available. There will be times when the photo is just not a good fit. Don't feel bad. It's not personal. :)
-- Our preferred method for receiving photos is Dropbox. Only email photos to me if you're having trouble with Dropbox.
-- Please send full size, un-watermarked photos. We will take care of watermarking and sizing, as well as any necessary color correction or adjustments.
-- You retain all rights to your image. The images will be watermarked "©Your Name / pointbuzz.com"
-- You will get credit on the photo and in the caption. Plus, thousands of Cedar Point fans will love you for helping out.
-- Cedar Point prohibits photography from all rides, with the exception of Space Spiral and CP&LE Railroad. We are unable to use photos taken on-ride, with those exceptions. This includes Sky Ride and Giant Wheel.
-- We are also unable to use photos taken from non-public areas. Even if you're permitted to be in such an area (i.e., employees), we can't use those photos unless specifically authorized by Cedar Point.
I edited the original post to include a note regarding on-ride photography and photos from non-guest areas. As Cedar Point policy prohibits photography on all rides except Space Spiral and CP&LE Railroad, we cannot use photos taken on rides (outside the listed exceptions). This includes Sky Ride and Giant Wheel.
I recommend a plane tour from Griffing airport. If the rumors are true, you might not have that option much longer. :-)
