I recently purchased the DETOUR sign that directed riders when reaching the top of the stairs inside Disaster Transport. Does anyone know if this sign was part of the 1990 theming, or was it added somewhere down the line? I've looked for photos from the 1990 opening, but can't find any of that section of the queue.
[/quotThe "detour" and "danger" sign that the Give the Kids The World Foundation put on eBay were from the refurb in the mid 2000s. They are not from the 1990 openIng. Cedar Point actually sent the signs down to the foundation in FL after the Final Dispatch instead of throwing them out, which I thought was awesome.
Anyone know the specific year of that refurb? Was the refurb associated with 3D upgrade? Halloweekends haunt?
I believe it was in 2002, when Wicked Twister's debut drew more attention to that area of the park. That's when the "repair bay" queue room that sign was in got remodeled.
And then one day you find ten years have got behind you
No one told you when to run, you missed the starting gun

Can anyone confirm that the DETOUR sign posted at the top of the stairs was added then as well, as it wasn't technically in the Repair Bay? Aside from the Dispatch Master Transport mural at the bottom of the stairs, it doesnt seem like that area got much of a refurb. Just trying to nail down the history of this sign.

I can 100% confirm the sign was added when the refurb happened. The ride first went 3-D and at that time you were still able to go through all rooms. After a few years they closed off the first 2 rooms and strictly just used the entrance they had until the end.
I thought I would share one of my most prized Cedar Point items. It took me years to find someone who had one.
The top to a Fascination machine and two balls.

As a side note, there is a free Fascination app on the IOS app store for those of us that remember and or were fond of the game. It is the 1 ball version, but it's still fun to play.
If anyone's looking for TTD or MF patches,as I watch out for them,MF patches sitting in a cup in the middle section,by all the tees on the wall,in Pagoda gift shop and TTD patches in a basket in the Emporium(between train station and RR crossing to Mean Streak). Seems like once their intitial production run of any patch is sold out,no more are ever ordered.

Would anyone here be willing to sell park maps? Are you kidding? It took me over twenty-five years to replace the 1974 map my ex destroyed. Ebay is your friend, and a he!! of a lot of patience.
Chill...I wasn't asking for the 1974 map that your ex destroyed, I was just asking if anyone was willing to sell any maps in general
