no one knows why CF puts belts on one coaster and none on the other ;)
Cedar Point modified the restraints on corkscrew. I don't know why they did it. One of the car's restraints unlocked mid ride during morning testing. The ride reopened with seatbelts in place. The other park's rides do not need seatbelts because they did not receive the mods.
The one day I worked over at Iron Dragon, we had a setup. Shorly after, we got a call from Power Tower stating that a kid was standing up in front of his harness. Not that a seatbelt can stop someone from getting out of their locked restraints. If you really wanted to, you could be an idiot and get out of most restraints at the park. When it comes down to random restraint failures, Disaster Transport and Iron Dragon aren't rides I'm worried about. Even if the restraints failed, the forces aren't such that a significant danger is present unless the rider decides to do something stupid.
Other rides, especially Magnum, Dragster, Raptor and among others present a significant danger if the restraints fail. Seatbelts are a natural choice on those rides these days.
What a relief!

okay i work on the iron dragon...we did not get the seatbelts. So i'll put the end to this.
Can anyone confirm that they were/werenot added once the park was actualy opened? From what I'm hearing, CF has supposedly added seatbelts to just about every coaster in the chain "to be consistent from park to park".
Laser at Dorney got them this year, so that makes every coaster at Dorney now.
